    Mike Butterworth started out as an artist having studied at an art college. His first real work in the comic book industry was when he was hired at Fleetway Publications. His art however was rejected at the company but his writing was welcomed. So he changed his career to be a writer. He wrote comics like Billy the Kid and Buffalo Bill, but his real succes came with the Trigan Empire.
