The Mighty Avengers
The Story:
Iron Man meets with Ms Marvel and proposes the idea of forming a new team of Avengers and appoints Ms Marvel as the leader of the team. They both decide on choices for the roster and come up with Wonder Man, Wasp, Ares, Sentry and the Black Widow. Not long after they form the new team a threat already poses a problem for them. The Mole Man's army of monsters are terrorizing the streets of the city. The newly formed Mighty Avengers jump into battle. Suddenly Iron Man appears to be melting and a female appears where he was seconds before. The Mighty Avengers find out that it is a female version of Ultron and she took over Tony Starks. Ultron easily desposes of the entire Mighty Avengers roster. Unable to contact Reed Richards, the Mighty Avengers call Hank Pym in for his assistance. Hank Pym shrinks Ares so he can enter inside Ultron and shut her down. Tony Starks is fine and recovering in the hospital when Spider Woman enters carrying a dead Elektra who is a skrull(who was killed in New Avengers: Revolution.)
My Thoughts:
A good start to a new series which shows a lot of potential to be an entertaining series. I'm liking the roster for the Mighty Avengers especially having Sentry and Ares on the team. I suppose it's only fitting their first challenge would be none other than Ultron. I really enjoyed seeing Ares the god of war who brings a whole different element to the team. It's gonna be interesting to see what he stirs up in future issues. Another part I enjoyed was when the Sentry thought Ultron had killed his wife. When he thought the love of his life was dead he lost control and came at Ultron with everything. I love seeing the Sentry in action. Frank Cho did an excellent job on the art. I like the way everything was drawn and all the colors by Jason Keith were done extremely well. I can't wait to see what Brian Michael Bendis and Frank Cho come up with next for this new roster of Avengers.
