After the death of his lover jasmine, Bug had leaved his friends and had sunk in the giant vegetation of Earth (since the Micronauts are a few inches tall.) The insectoid hero travels through grass, thick like a jungle for him, and he discovers a colossal farm with some elephant-size chicken.

Watching this, he is surprised by a cow big like a building. Scared of being eaten, he jumps on the back of a chicken who run for some meters. Bug jumps again on a pig’s back before crashing in a puddle, disgusted by the contact of water. Laying down in the mud, the Micronaut sees an Earth man with mad eyes coming out of the barn and watching him. Astonished by the fact that Bug is able to talk, the human tries to catch him. Bug hits the man’s hand with his rocket lance in order to stop him but the man uses a spray he is carrying on his back and stuns the little Micronaut. It's easy now for the Earth-man to put the defenseless insectivorid in a glass box among others strange insects and send a strange gas in the box.

After their adventure in the dolly house (issue #18), the others Micronauts start to look after their companion. Leaded by the bug's brainwave patterns detected by Biotron, they travel to the farm where he is imprisoned. But, in an extraordinary way, some insects transmit a telepathic message to the farm where the strange human is studying insects. So he comes out of his barn and sees the Endeavor. Then he uses his spray on the spacecraft but the Micronauts's vessel is hermetic. Perseverant, he catches a pitch-fork and damages the spacecraft. Acroyear and Arcturus Rann put on their space-gliders and fly out to defend themselves but it is too late: their enemy shots the Endeavor with a shotgun.

Then the human catches the commander and tells him about his life: His name is John. He is fascinated by insects since his childhood. But his strange passion has separated him from the other children who nicknamed him Odd John. So, he grewn up with the only company of the insects. As an adult, he used his barn to collect them and made some experiments in order to mutated them and place them in a higher evolution field. And now, he is almost ready to lead an army of mutated insects.

But this story doesn’t stop Acroyear. He hurts the face of Odd John who releases Commander Rann. Immediately, the Earth man calls his flying insect army. The Endeavor, already crippled by the shot, is assailed by strange huge mutated flying insect and crashes. Gliding around the spacecraft, Acroyear is shot from behind and discovers the bug’s rocket launcher in the hands of an ugly flying insect. Soon, Commander Rann realizes that this insect is Bug, awfully mutated by Odd John, and that it’s him who leads the fanatic army. But it’s too late. Acroyear, astonished by his friend mutation, falls under his shots. To his part, Arcturus Rann is stunned by the spray of Odd John. With all his opponents fallen, John calls back his insect army and sends it to the nearby town. He also takes the defenseless body of Rann and is about to pin him with the rest of his collection…

In the nearby town, Scott Lang and his daughter Cassie are in their house, observing some ants behaving oddly. So, he put on his Ant-Man outfit and hitches a flying ant who drives him to the place that scared the insects. In fact, the human hero could be the last hope for the Micronauts.
