People are still getting used to the death of singer Michael Jackson.  Despite some of his quirks, the man was a brilliant performer.  The folks at Bluewater Productions (the publisher that has delivered the Presidential and Female Force biographical comics) will put out a Michael Jackson Tribute comic, slated for October.

What are your thoughts on this?  Is it a fitting tribute or does it feel like they're trying to cash in?  The fact is, there are many that wouldn't read an actual biography (for Michael Jackson or the political figures).  Is having the biographies in comic book form a way to get younger readers to actual read their stories?  Would you even consider buying a Michael Jackson comic?

    Oh for gods sake...

The amount of attention his death is getting is becoming ridiculous... Yes, the man was one of the greatest performers of all time, but having Michael Jackson tributes everywhere you look just cheapens his death. A comic is too far. How can you produce a tribute to someone who was good at singing and dancing in a comic book? A comic can't sing or dance, so it's just gonna be a Biography... And a story of his actual life wouldn't be that great... It was his music that was entertaining, his life was kinda screwed up...

This is just a cash-in. Play MJ's songs around the clock if you will, put his music videos on every channel in the world if you have to, but don't produce a bloody comic about his life, that's just stupid.

And it's not even a successful way of cashing in, considering it won't be out till October, when the majority of the human race will have moved on... At least, I hope so.

You seem to have named all the good things out of this. They are honouring his life. They are bringing it to the comic readers who otherwise wouldn't read it in other forms.

And why is it a problem if they can cash in on it? They are still a business. Who knows, maybe they will end up giving a portion of the sales to a charity? Even if not, would people say the same thing if it was a novel? The publisher of that biography would not be looked at as cashing in.

If it would be wrong of the comic publisher to cash in on it, then we should accuse all the record stores around the world for cashing on it too for all the MJ albums they sold during the last week.

I say good on the comic publisher to take the initiative and bring the MJ story in a different domain.

I like some of his music... not gonna lie, but....

    "Quirks?"

...you wouldn't be referring to his special room at Neverland Ranch would you?

I can celebrate his music... but I can't celebrate him.

He was acquitted of all counts, it's not fair to say anything other than what we know.

We know he made good and influential music. That he was a groundbreaking artist. That he promoted peace on a scale that most artists don't. That he's donated so much and done a lot for many people. This dude was something special and now that he's gone, he should be celebrated. Because all the good he's done drowns out the bad ALLEGATIONS that were made on him.

The "special room" at Neverland Ranch wasn't a "special room" either. It was his bedroom, and the only thing that they found in said bedroom was toys, which was very suggestive.

No, you're right. I shouldn't jump to conclusions... I am however going to stay wary... until the book by his lawyer comes out...

Definitely, he might of not been someone to look up to or anything but he was the King of Pop. The worlds greatest performer. Shit, as a kid i begged my parents to let me take dance class so i could learn to dance just like him ( i was already in gymnastics so they put up kind of a fight). It's funny how much you don't realize you'll miss someone until they're gone.

I'm tired of hearing about it, I honestly don't think he deserves all this attention, dead or not. I never found anything that great about his music or what he did. Billy Mays died, is he going to get a comic? I'd buy that before a MJ one.

Blasphemy! He is the best andmost influential thing to happen to music. Just cause your deaf and have bad taste in music does not mean everyone else shares you opinion.

People just show their respect and admiration with what they have

Just like Ron Burgundy when he said that he was with Veronica on the air... He then said that he was sorry but he was in love and wanted to yell it out of a mountain but he didn't have a mountain all he had was a camera.... Yeah... So I guess they are pretty much doing the same for their icon(?) O_O

I wonder what exactly will it be about? O_O?
