Michael Chabon is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author. He created the Escapist as a fictional comic book character for his novel "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay", but that character has since gotten his own comic in the real world. The Escapist is still, however, fictional. Confusing, I know.
