Few Cybertronians appeared to know of the mysterious Metroplex's existence. He was stumbled upon by the Throttlebots, who were fleeing from an attack by Sixshot on a research station they had been assigned to as couriers. To them, it seemed as though they had come across an abandoned city, where they were forced to make their hopeless stand against Sixshot. The disturbance their battle created awoke the sleeping giant, and Metroplex rose. He dominated Sixshot with a single blow, ending the fight.

However, the Throttlebots saw no further assistance from Metroplex. The giants primary concern was that his position had been compromised. Apparently, he had been in hiding as part of some mission to protect an unknown item he was in possession of. He told the Throttlebots that he wept for his fellow Autobots, but his mission had to take priority over all else. He transformed into a spaceworthy vessel and abandoned them on that world with a badly damaged but living Sixshot. There were resources and a shuttle they could make use of, but they had received all the help they would see from him.

    Powers and Abilities

Metroplex is massive, in both size and strength. He can lift up to 75,000 tons, and due to his enormous mass, strength and power, he can crush a town with the mere force of his blows. In addition to his great raw power, Metroplex possesses incredible durability. It would require at least a low-yield trans-warp explosion to even put a scratch on his tremendously thick, heavily-armored hide. He has left shoulder-mounted twin high-energy MASTER (Microwave Amplification through Stimulated Emission of Radiation) cannons and a retractable omni-directional receiving and transmitting rod antenna in his right shoulder his chest module contains a storage bay capable of holding a mid-size vehicle. In Autobot City mode, he has a helipad and ramps leading to the storage bay and various repair bays. Using a full compliment of armatures, welders, presses, micro-sensors, gages and spare parts, he's able to service up to four vehicles at any one time. His left rear tower transforms into a tank called Slammer. Metroplex can control Slammer for a maximum range of 40 miles. Slammer's cannon shoots explosive rocket propelled mortar shells that have a 1.5 mile range. Scamper, the small sports car berthed within Metroplex, carries side-mounted electro blasters that shoot streams of 20,000 volt electricity. In robot mode, Scamper uses a high-energy particle beam pistol. Scamper has a maximum speed of 150 mph and a range of 500 miles. Six-gun, the small robot made literally of six guns and Metroplex central tower, is a walking, talking artillery battery. In addition to the twin surface to air guided missile launchers he wears on his back, Six-Gun has ion-pulse rifles for arms and sometimes uses a seventh gun, a high temperature acetylene pistol that can melt through most metals. Scamper and Six-Gun operate independently of Metroplex. Each has a mind of his own, although each essentially has a personality nearly identical to Metroplex and is mind linked to him and each other. Scamper tends to be more impulsive and gregarious, Six-Gun more belligerent. Three minds together can be considered units of a single, larger mind, although Metroplex's mind is clearly dominant. Metroplex uses Scamper, Six-Gun and Slammer to scout and defend his periphery, although occasionally he'll send one or more on short missions. Metroplex's final form, the mobile Battle Station is a wheeled battle platform whose formidable firepower makes him virtually untouchable in this mode, Metroplex can have up to 12 pieces of artillery blazing away simultaneously. In addition to the previously mentioned MASTER cannons, ion pulse rifles and missile launchers, he's equipped with twin independent mounted disruptor rays on top, capable of interfering with electric currents within a target's body; two laser lances and two front mounted anti-matter projectors, the most powerful of all his weapons, which are capable of producing and shooting minute packets of anti-matter that obliterate anything upon contact. Metroplex can also use all these weapons in his Autobot City mode.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron - Metroplex appears in all versions of the game and is voiced by Fred Tatasciore. During Optimus Prime's defense of the Ark which was left open due to Grimlock and his team leaving their post, Perceptor guides Optimus to various power stations and turrets in order to help the war effort. Once Optimus is one a large turret it suddenly stops firing and opens a path that is not on Perceptors blueprints where Optimus senses the spark of Metroplex and orders him to aid in the fight. Metroplex begs the call of the last Prime and arises to defeat the Decepticons. Metroplex aids Optimus by providing him artillery strikes to decimate Decepticon tanks, troops, and equipment. Optimus and Metroplex target and destroy 2 of 3 Decepticon Artillery cannons, but at the 3rd and final cannon Metroplex takes a direct hit to the chest and is knocked offline. Optimus attempts to shutdown the gun by himself though is ambushed by Starscream and the Combaticons (Onslaught, Brawl, Blastoff, Vortex, and Swindle) and captured. Once taken before Megatron inside the 3rd cannon Optimus is rescued by Metroplex who rips the roof of the cannon and proceeds to pummel Megatron into spare parts. Starscream orders a hasty retreat and claims leadership of the Decepticons. Metroplex serves as the defense for the Ark until the Autobots lose the last shipment of Energon. Metroplex then sacrifices his own spark to power the Ark in the hopes the Autobots would survive in space. Metroplex falls over dead right as the Ark takes off saying "Till all are One". Due to his size only Metroplex's head is available for the Scientist class in the Multiplayer mode, and that one part is called "Tyrant".
