The inside cover begins with a letter from Rob Liefeld stating "To Gary-- What can I say! You believed in me first... and strongest! I owe alot of it to you! Welcome back to the comics business! Best, Rob Liefeld"
Gary Carlson goes on to explain the publishing situation at the time in the letters stating that "MEGATON EXPLOSION" was a "dud" and that the Holiday Special was intended to be 64 pages and resulted in 40 pages with some pieces being printed elsewhere.
Besides the main Megaton story, this issue includes a Vanguard story, "First Noël", a Feral story, "Christmas Rush", and a Dr. Weird story, "It Came Upon A Fear!"
At the center is a double page spread of the Megaton characters and a poster for the "long-lost 1987 YOUNGBLOOD book." On the back of the poster includes a comedic take of the characters that did not get their own story in the book as well as a cover gallery for the eight Megaton issues.
There's a special thanks to Erik Larsen & Image Comics, Larry Shell at Heroes World & Bill Maus.
