FROM THE LONGBOX: MARVELS # 3

In this issue we find that Phil Sheldon wants to create a book of photos of the marvels through the years. Unfortunately, he begins to notice, that as much as they try to save the world over and over, the public still works to Ostracise them. Now it is not only mutants, but all superpowered individuals who are looked down upon by the general public.

The world is sent into a panic when the sky is lit on fire, and then just as suddenly filled with stone. Unbeknownst to the general public, these occurences come with a Silver Surfer, and they herald the coming of Galactus.

    Review :

Wow, talk about creating a mood. Even with the ending already known to us, Kurt and Alex really take us on a ride with only giving away certain detais of the famous Fantastic Four story, we see it as the average person would in the Marvel Universe. Yet, it is when Phil decides to walk home, that is when the weight of the events really hit. We see the reactions. The feelings of a mixed hope and helplessness. It is this that really creates the mood that holds this issue together.
