While the Hulk has been one of Marvel's most popular and enduring characters for more than 50 years, he has had some of the most changes. And many of them not always for the better. Being a comic fan and historian for over 35 years, I'm going to rank the 10 best stories that truly defined Ol' Jade Jaws into MY imagination and created his place within the Marvel mythos. Read on true believer because some of these stories might not be the ones that you are thinking of...

You're missing a lot of stories from the Peter David and Greg Pak runs. Those are usually considered the definitive Hulk arcs but I don't see any on your list. Probably due to your preference for the 60s-80s period of comics.

@lvenger: He kind of said he didn't like their takes on Hulk.

I did read it and you didn't mention Greg Pak or Peter David's run in any of your lists. I have to say that you're missing out big time.

Seriously? Those two are probably the best Hulk writers to date and they're beaten by the outdated classic storylines? I can understand nostalgia but there has to be a limit to it.

EDIT: Never mind, I saw what you were trying to point out to me but you go on way too long about how current comic books are the spawn of Satan (which they're really not btw.)

I haven't read Paul Jenkins' run myself but I've heard that it's pretty bad. I was surprised that you've put a story of his on your list.

I'm a Hulk fan for over 35 years. I loved Peter David's run, longevity alone should count for something. I liked the variety of the run Grey Hulk, Prof. Hulk, a little Savage Hulk. Hulk as an enforcer for a Vegas casino was brilliant.....and a great mixture of artist's Keown, McFarlane, and Purves.

Hulk no longer smashes and hasn't for over 35 years.
