I'm trying to think of another Marvel female character that has been able to carry her own title for a consistent duration like She-Hulk has. I guess Spider-Woman had a 50-issue run like way back in the day.

    Is there anyone else?

Carol Danvers is a bit higher in the current pecking order in my opinion. right now, I would say Marvel's most successful females are Carol and maybe Black Widow. An argument could definitely be made for Natasha as well.

For most solo issue appearances, this is what the top five looked like in February:

    1. TIE: She-Hulk, Spider-Girl (May Parker) - 146 comics
    2. Elektra - 98 comics
    3. Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) - 83 comics
    4. Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) - 63 comics
    5. Black Widow - 55 comics

I think Spider-Girl had the longest run though, with 102 issues.

But does number of appearances actually equate success? I'd say that success is contingent on good writing for that character consistently since her inception. Many Marvel purists would argue that Secret Invasion remove both Elektra and Spider-Woman from the running, but I dunno. Personally, I think She-Hulk (Jennifer Walters) is the best female character to hold her own title. She has been utilized to tell both dramatic and comedic stories that came off genuine; she's been a part of memorable storylines in her own comic as well as others, and she is extremely visible to the general public. lol She's even been the subject of pornography. (~sighs~) Ahem!
