When Marvel Zombies first came out, it was a blast.  It was simply a fun ride.  The mini-series ended and we were satisfied.  Then came the sequel.  And the one after that and after that.  It started to feel as if the franchise itself was starting to decompose.  The novelty was just starting to wear off.

Marvel has announced the return of the original Marvel Zombies.  Fred Van Lente is returning as well and he'll be joined by three novelists with a background in all things zombie.

Marvel Zombies Return: Spider-Man will feature Van Lente and artist Nick Dragotta telling the story of Zombie Spidey traveling through space and time circa Amazing Spider-Man #68

    Marvel Zombies Return: Iron Man
will be written by novelist David Wellington with art by Andrea Mutti.

    No Caption Provided
Marvel Zombies Return: Wolverine is coming courtesy of writer Jonathan Maberry and artist Jason Shawn Alexander.  The undead mutant will face off against a bunch of martial artists.  Sounds good to me.

Marvel Zombies Return: Hulk will be smashing your way written by "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" novelist Seth Grahame-Smith and art by Richard Elson.

Finally we'll have Marvel Zombies Return: Avengers by Van Lente and artist Wellington Alves.
"I can tell you that the 'event' [that brings them together] is the massive, apocalyptic climax to the entire MARVEL ZOMBIES RETURN series," notes Van Lente. "It's called 'Carnage on Infinite Earths' and involves the Blue Area of the Moon in a very significant way. Just remember these words, and where they come from:

"'Nobody knows what caused this exactly, but some people think it might have been a punch.'"

I'm actually looking forward to this.  What do you think?  Do you hunger for more Marvel Zombies?  Have you enjoyed the last couple mini-series?  Are you going to picke these up?  If you haven't been keeping up, you'll be able to easily pick up on the fun here.

When we stop buying it or they run out of ideas?  I do like that they're spotlighting each Zombie.  Also bringing in novelists that have written zombie stuff should be interesting.

@G-Man:  Yeah,it does. It'll be cool, and maybe a bit disturbing,to see the different takes on each one. But hopefully this is the end, because after this I think the series will be milked bone dry as far as plot is concerned.
    ...
    But then hey,it's Marvel!

Awesome.. zombies are by far my favorite horror creature. Although the only Marvel Zombies I've read is Marve Zombies vs The Army of Darkness. What I want to see now though is what happened to Ash after he was sent to the next world.

I'm not much for super hero zombies. I gave these a run, but they're not really for me. I keep thinking about maybe picking up TPB's, but I'm not even sure if I'll do that.

Being a huge Spidey fan, It just hurt so much when I found out about Pete and MJ and Aunt May, so while I read and thoroughly enjoyed the first one, I just cant stomach it anymore. Its too sad >_<

idk. ill be honest, marvel zombies never seemed very well written at all. it always seemed like just excuses to get marvel characters eating people and pump out some sweet art, which is it very much so did. but idk if i want another series. im a big spidey fan, but this is a mini series i prob wont pick up just cuz im a little sick of the corny plots to get more and more good zombie pics and people eaten. but hey, thats some peoples thing. they love it and eat it up (no pun intended). so more power to ya, but not for me

I liked the first marvel zombies because it was so shocking to see some of the worlds favorite heros not just being bad guys, but sick, demented bad guys that ate people. Now THAT was shock value at its best. But sadly, the shock is no longer there and the stories are slowy starting to stink worse than the rotting carcass characters that they're about...

NO.  Haven't read any and doubt I will, IMO one of the stupidest and, I think, sickest ideas to come out of the house :(

see, i hate this. You can tell Marvel had very little faith in this idea when it was made, cuz it was an elseworld. If they really believed in it, it would have been an event, or a arch. But no, it was a stand alone, non continuity book. and then it struck gold, and Marvel lost themselves. they made a sequel and a third, and people got bored. And now, their trying to brush off Zombies 4 as "zombies 1-and-a-half, parts 1-however many there are".

Let it fucking die. people got pissed off cuz DC wrote a string of crisis stories that where all relevant, but no one looks at this and throws fruit? Marvel is going to milk this Zombies thing for as long as they can, cuz their lazy and don't like to actually sit down a 20 man writing staff and THINK of new stories for the next year. Its much easier to let one person say "i have an idea" and then just run with it until its dead. Thats why even though half of the readers couldn't understand Final Crisis until the end, it still had a higher approval raitin than Civil War. Its planing vs. a bunch of fanboys writing fan fiction. what marvel's doing. Yes. It is. Thats why Peter Parker isn't married, after 20 years of build up, and then like 30 of happy marriage. thats why norman osborn is in charge of marvel right now. DOOm would shoot him in the face before he let him take charge of all the villains, and Norm hasn't done anything since being a super villain that would gain the whole worlds trust like that. BS.
im calling BS on civil War. And Dark Reign. And stupid Fuking Marvel Zombies.

You seriously believe that after 70 years of Marvel Timelines everything should add up to a Zombie infection where Peter Parker inevitably eats Aunt May and Mary Jane? Thats your alternative to One More Day?

The Marvel Zombies thing is dying out because it was a pretty one trick pony and because the "Zombies" trend is dying out and has been dying out as of 2008.

it has always been a side project, but they did spend like 3 months making an alternate Zombies cover for almost all of their comics.
and it looks like their trying to spread it out to continuity. have you read that stupid Monkey's universe crap with a Monkey Speedball and a monkey Fantastic 4? cuz a zombie just walked onto the pages of the monkey-verse not too long ago. haven't seen anything about it sense, but i happened.
thats why i only read one or two Marvel comics a week now. so if anything stupid happens, i can just put it down and be done with it instead of having the irritating knowledge of owning said comic sitting in the back of my mind, eating away at my sanity like some sort of.... zombie.
