When Cloak finds a killer parasite residing in his cloak, it will be up to the duo to stop them when it attaches itself to a legendary killer!

Jack, The Ripper, departs London, for the United States of America. Jack, The Ripper, resumes murdering woman. One night, while burying his latest victim, at a construction site, a support beam gives way, burying Jack, The Ripper, alive. Cloak, and Dagger, survey Times Square, in search of criminal activity. Five armed individuals chase after a trio. Cloak, and Dagger, subdue the five seeming criminals, only to learn that they are actually undercover police officers. Dagger harshly criticizes Cloak's judgment. Cloak teleports away. Dagger searches for Cloak, at the Holy Ghost Church. Father Delgado, believing Cloak to be a demon, tries to drive a wedge between Cloak, and Dagger.

Delgado convinces Dagger to suspend her search, and get some rest. Cloak appears. Rather than inform Dagger of Cloak's presence, Delgado hurls holy water on Cloak. To Cloak's surprise, the holy water burns him. Cloak teleports away. Cloak wonders if, in fact, he is a demon. Doubting his judgment, Cloak refuses to intervene against further criminal acts, witnessed during the night. Cloak's crisis of conscience troubles the demonic Predator which actually resides within Cloak. The Predator feeds on the life energy of the criminals that Cloak absorbs, as well as Dagger's light, which she freely gives Cloak. If Cloak ceases to use his power, the Predator faces starvation.

The Predator dwells on the origin of Cloak, and Dagger. Tandy Bowen, and Tyrone Johnson, were runaways, who were given an experimental form of heroin. All the other test subjects died. Bowen, and Johnson, gained super-powers, becoming Cloak, and Dagger. The Predator takes direct action to force Cloak to feed him. As Cloak walks away from an assault, a strange emerald fog emerges from his cloak. The fog engulfs the would-be killer, transforming him into Jack, The Ripper. Much to the Predator's chagrin, Jack,The Ripper, refuses to follow his orders. Dagger is furious when she discovers that Delgado did not inform her of Cloak's presence. Dagger searches New York, for Cloak.

The police try to arrest Dagger, who flees from them. Under the influence of Jack, The Ripper's, unearthly power, a fog blankets parts of New York, transforming it into 19th Century London. The effect convinces Cloak that he is losing his sanity. Lost in "London", Cloak fruitlessly search for the Holy Ghost Church. Jack, The Ripper, goes on a killing spree. The Predator tries to sway Jack, The Ripper, to his side, to no avail. Dagger believes that Cloak is responsible for Jack, The Ripper's crimes. Cloak begins to believe that he is responsible for Jack, The Ripper's, murders. The Predator tries to force Cloak to feed him, to no avail. Dagger pursues Cloak. The Predator rails at Jack, The Ripper.

Cloak tries to commit suicide by forcing police officers to fire on him. Cloak, however, is immune to gunfire. Jack, The Ripper, murders the police officers. Discovering the bodies, Dagger is convinced of Cloak's guilt. Dagger confronts Cloak. Dagger pours all of her light energy into Cloak. At first, the Predator is ecstatic, but the light proves too overwhelming, forcing the Predator to withdraw further inside Cloak, or risk being consumed. Cloak does not die, but rather loses all of his powers, reverting back to Johnson. Jack, The Ripper, feeds on Dagger's light, sustaining his spirit on the mortal plane. From Jack, The Ripper, Cloak learns that he, himself, is not a demon, but rather a gatekeeper, for a demon that lives within his darkness.

Cloak's power gradually returns. Cloak absorbs Jack, The Ripper, with Dagger following. The Predator punishes Jack, The Ripper, for his defiance. Dagger tries to destroy the Predator, but her light energy is largely spent. Dagger exits Cloak's dimension of darkness. With a better understanding of Cloak's powers, Dagger promises to stand by his side. Delgado, driven mad by his obsession with Dagger, and hatred of Cloak, is committed. Cloak, and Dagger, return to their home, the Holy Ghost Church.
