Poll How strong is MCU Luke Cage? (48 votes)

    1 ton 8%
    2 tons 15%
    3-5 tons 31%
    5-7 tons 17%
    8-10 tons 29%

Now that we have a wider collection of showings from the show, where would you gauge Luke's strength level? This is based on the standard Marvel Strength Scale, where the weight listed is the weight one could press overhead. Keep in mind, the world record overhead press (the lift specified by the Marvel scale) is around 450 lbs, or 0.23 tons.

    1-2 tons - about a Toyota Prius

    3 tons - about a Ford F-150

5-7 tons - an adult African elephant

    10 tons - a larger semi-truck trailer

Okay, so the consensus is around 2-4 tons, making him probably somewhat stronger than Cap. It does highlight the stark difference in the ways Cap and Luke use their strength, as Cap rarely performs "strongman" acts such as breaking metal bars, bending guns, and things of that nature, as Luke does all the time, and Luke rarely uses the speed and jumping capability/agility that should come along with his strength, and Luke is not an unskilled/sloppy fighter, just chooses to be slow. It might be painful for Cap to perform those feats, but he seems durable enough that he should be able to do it. Just interesting to me.

Yeah the show proved that Luke is not unskilled. He just never had a reason to use any skill in his fights until the end.

He's lifting strength isn't actually that great as you would think so far: mostly because he hasn't needed to lift really huge things. But, he's got some great damage output.

Right now he's very much a street level brick and I hope it stays that way for the sake of the show, but who knows what they have planned for Defenders.

I'm guessing Defenders is being giving the biggest budget and marvel will cough up the cash gladly.

Yup. Id say Cap has higher showings of lifting strength. Cage is just extremely tanky.

    I wouldn't be surprised if he's a 7-8 tonner now
