    Rock and Roll

Peter Parker is on another field trip, this time to the Manhattan Museum of Art.  And as you can imagine, he's going to run into trouble.  Near the Status of Venus de Milo, he sees a strange statue and his Spider Sense goes off.  I thought it was clever how he took out a match and figured out the statue was breathing.  Turns out that statue is the Grey Gargoyle.
One little thing I notices while reading this.  Peter says the Grey Gargoyle can turn anything to stone by touching it with his "right" hand.  Then when he turns Liz to stone, he's using his left hand.  Does that mean he can use either.  I'll have to look this guy up and see what's the scoop.
We liked this issue a lot (both my son and I).  There was action from the word go and Spidey was up to his usual snappy comebacks.  My son did laugh at a few of them,  I really liked when he gave the business to Flash Thompson.  He always deserves it!
One thing I did find out... Spidey is a Mets fan.... I have to seriously reconsider my liking the character.  I don't know if I can have a hero that likes the Mets.  lol
The one thing I did like about this issue a lot... at the end, Grey Gargoyle is put in a bad spot and forced to make a decision.  There's mention of black and white issues and the gray area in between.  I can't say to much about it, for fear of ruining the ending.  But I will say this, it was a great opportunity for my son and I to talk about how even though there is right and wrong, there can be a gray area as well.  These little things make for great conversation.  I have to give the writers a HUGE thumbs up on that one.  What a great way for me to talk with my son and have a great life lesson while enjoying the fun of this issue.
It was a great one, if you can find a copy to share with your youngster, please do.
