Information
To celebrate Marvel's 25th anniversary (counting from the moment they published the first issue of Fantastic Four in 1961), the company brought out a special frame cover for every ongoing series in november 1986. Some comics that where bi-monthly had no issue in november, and unfortunately did not receive this frame-cover. Some years later, in 2009, Marvel revived the idea of the frame-covers with the Marvel 70th Anniversary Variant Frame Covers. This time, Marvel counted from 1939, the year that Marvel's predecessor Timely Comics first published Marvel Comics issue 1.
