1. They could get away with it knowing they could make money on it later.
2. Batman, Wonder Women, Flash, and Green Lantern are too popular to have tried to omit.
3. Aquaman was too big a part of the story because of his army and has a solid fan-base in new 52.
4. I doubt they would have gotten high solo dlc sales from Cyborg, and because he is a JLA, member they were probably told to add him in.
5. But MMH while popular isn't really very iconic (not like the "main" JLA characters with solos). I'd say him, Cyborg are probably the only 2 they could get away with omitting, with J'onn being the one most likely to get higher DLC sales. Aquaman is debatable (but outsells Wonder Women in comic sales).

TLDR: It is a numbers game: trying to maximize DLC revenue vs upsetting fans by omitting essential content.

Agreed, same for Zod and Superman, but the issue is the naming. Could they change the name that appears when you select a skin? If so, they could have done the same for Powergirl and Supergirl using Superman's moves. Even Flash => Zoom. Heck, even Batgirl => Batwomen => Black Bat!

i was misinformed, you can still get the compatibility pack with the John skin but you have to do it on the marketplace and not the in-game store

Green Lantern John Steward is more then just a skin, since he also uses another voice, coming either very close to the JLU cartoon voice, or it is possibly that very actor.

You can play as batman beyond, and still have thesame standard voice and expressions and sequences as the other versions of batman you play. I think John Steward is a new character as well..

He could have been forced to do that by a higher up since he doesn't even really use the character--the exception being issue 16. But 1 issue out of 22 is nothing really--especially when every other character has a solo title.

John isnt a character. he's a skin. its been explicitly stated that he's a sin since before it was even confirmed. they simply re-recorded Hal's lines with a Phil Lamarr's voice just like they did with Green Arrow's ARROW skin.

and they would never introduce Vigilante because no one besides comic fans even remotely remembers or respects the character.

I'm slightly disappointed by that. John Stewart deserved his own character and MM's combat was....wayyy to reliant on his ability to stretch limbs. Where's the awesome shape shifting into an alien dragon?!?!?!?!

John Stewart is my default skin now and the Martian Manhunter look's pretty cool.

another Lantern regardless of difference between constructs would have been a complete waste of space. JS fans have him in it complete with voice acting by Phil Lamarr, thats good enough. i agree with you about MMH though.

because they obviously didnt care enough to do so. other reasons could be that its because Bruce did wear that suit for a while at the beginning of the show, maybe Will Friedle didn't want or care enough to reprise the role while Phi Lamarr was already onthe voice cast for the game. Maybe they put more effort into this skin because it was highly requested. or maybe its because John Stewart made more of an impact on casual fans than Terry Mcginnis did on Batman Beyond. there are alot of possible reasons.

Looks like Netherealm decided to show us something that nobody even suspected in the story mode of Injustice as MM's character ending clearly shows. Spoilers ahead, you have been warned.

EDIT: Ok since the video's not working, MM's character ending reveals that the Aquaman's advisor in the story mode was actually MM in disguise.
