    Marco Venanzi was born in Italy on December 14th, 1963. In 1986, after studying in Liège, he draws his first historical strips in Le Journal de Tintin and Tintin Reporter based on scripts by Michel Dusart, who also writes his first album, Froidure, in 1990. The next year he takes over from André Juillard on Masquerouge. In 2003 he launches the Hidalgos series with Michel Pierret and wins an award at the Angoulême festival for another work. Two years later he draws a comic book biography of soccer legend Zinedine Zidane and in 2008 joins the Jacques Martin empire by working on an album in the Les Voyages De Jhen series and later the flagship Les Aventures D'Alix series.
