The Dark Knight director is producing Kal-El's upcoming movie and he says director Zack Snyder is absolutely the right man for Superman's cinematic return. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Nolan says Snyder's experience proves he can handle the task at hand.

Zack was the perfect man to take this on; he is unbelievably skilled at creating a coherent, cohesive world. Whether it’s a very stylized world, like 300, or something that’s more challenging, more varied, like he did with Watchmen,

The fan favorite director also says he believes creating Superman's universe is a more demanding obstacle than creating Bruce Wayne's. Why? Simply because of the challenges that come with a superpowered character.

“In my honest appraisal, taking on Superman and creating that world is far more difficult than creating the world of the Dark Knight. He has a lot of finishing to do on the movie -- it has a very long post-production schedule because, unlike Batman, Superman flies"

While Nolan is only producing Man of Steel, he claims it's a franchise that he wouldn't know how to handle.

I actually feel guilty talking about it because I’m sitting here having nothing to do to it. I try to be as supportive as I can, and I’m just amazed by what he is doing. It’s not something I would know how to do.

Personally cannot wait for this movie to come out. And the fact that a director such as Nolan would comment like this on Man of Steel fills me with complete joy. I'll be the first to get in line for this movie.

As trailers go it looks immense. But I did say that about the Prometheus trailer..... so we shall see.

I'm definitely on board with this movie, but then I loved both 300 (I actually think it's better than the comic) and Watchmen. Dawn of the Dead was great too. The guy handles adaptations really well, I think, it's when he tried to do something completely original that it fell apart (Sucker Punch), so a Zack Snyder Superman movie filtered through Nolan sounds pretty much perfect to me.

I think it looks great, the trailer was awesome.

Fills me with much joy. I'm really looking forward to all the Superman stuff coming in 2013 (new animated movie, new comic from Snyder & Lee, Injustice game, etc) but Man of Steel especially.

I think it's going to be a great 75th anniversary year for Superman and the reboot will be the highlight.

Zack Snyder sucks.

But I really hope this movie is good.... Superman needs it.

Can't wait for this movie...just finished watching all 10 seasons of Smallville this week and got Superman: Earth One for Christmas ..on the superman hype =D

Chris Nolan is a bit too humble. He would not this sh** out of the park if he was on it. I haven't really had any issues with Zack's movies. I've liked them so far so I'm sure this one will be no exception. And Kevin Kostner as pa Kent: that's a no brainer.

Trailer looks great. Probably the movie I'm most excited to see next year.

Very anxious for this one. If, for no other reason, than to have the bad taste still lingering in my mouth after the Bryan Singer fiasco removed.

On that note, I wish they would just reboot the X-Men movie verse. The first movie was passable for its time, barely. The sequels were B movie-ish and I really want to see Singer kept as far away from a superhero movie franchise as possible.

But I digress ... this movie needs to be awesome.

Honestly, who cares what Nolan has to say about a Superman movie. Yes, I do want to see the new Superman movie. Why does mater what Nolan says?

both 300 and Watchmen were shot in a way that blew my mind. Yes 300 was over simplistic and blunt, and Watchmen too entangled and high scale - but I think Snyder is as good a choice as any for this film...

After what Nolan did to Batman I am not sure I want to see this movie. Is this going to be a superless Superman Nolan neautered Batman I do not want him in charge of the JLA Franchise.

Still a little disappointed with the muted colors and basketball texture on the costume, but that's a minor complaint if the movie's good. I guess with the new Spiderman movie outfit, that's just the style these days.

Well it seems that Nolan is just being honest about the immensity of delving into Superman in a live action film. Zack Snyder has done well in the past so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Still looking forward to MoS next year!

I am terrified for this movie: If it fails, it proves to casual non-comic book reader movie goers that all DC Comics movies that don't have Batman in it are terrible.

That, and Superman hasn't had a good movie in years.

I've said this before, Zack Snyder will without a doubt make this movie "LOOK" amazing, all of his films are visually outstanding, so in that respect I'm not worried about Man Of Steel, I know its visuals will be great. It's the story that I'm a bit worried about, still waiting for more info on the story before I make any other judgments on it :)

Nolan's producing Man of Steel, that's why we're talking about him.

I don't think Nolan is the type of director who would talk up a movie in public, and associate his name with it in anyway, if he didn't have some faith in it. Based on the movies he's made I'm inclined to support his tastes.

I hope it ends up being good, but I understand why Nolan said it is harder to make Superman than Batman.

Would be difficult to create a worse Superman movie than the last one.
