OH COOL! We get to see Leeja Clane's take on the robot society....wait. Why is this robot talking?

Magnus Robot Fighter #4 Review; be on the lookout for the fifth issue review! In this issue, the creative team takes a break from the usual Magnus Robot Fighter flow, and gives us readers a look at Leeja Robot Fighter. Or so you would think!

    Say,
Say, "Hello", to Devo Porell. The robot that will be taking you through this, uh, journey? I guess?

Note for creative team! If you are going to put Leeja Clane on the cover of this zero issue, then you better deliver on some Leeja Clane action; not this, whatever this, issue is! I feel betrayed.

So in this story, it follows a robot named, Devo Porrell, who goes through the Singularity's system of becoming "one" with it. Through his eyes, writer Fred Van Lente, spins a story that shows us what the everyday robot's life is like; especially one that believes in the Singularity and its second coming. (Basically a robot having sex, killing humans, and having sex. That's pretty much it.) Lente's story is engaging and humorous, to say the least, as he shows off more of this world run by robots. (It's too funny how robots try to be like humans.) And, how characters like Porrell, believe in the Singularity and how it impacts their daily lives. I liked learning more about the world, and cared little to nothing for Devo Porrell's character. Because he dies at the end! Haha, spoiler.

What my main problem with this issue was, Leeja Clane on the cover! Have an army of robots all doing the, "HAIL HYDRA!" pose or even the Singularity itself on the cover; don't put Leeja on the cover please! When picking this issue up, I thought I would see Leeja's take on the Robot Fighters; not the little robot who wants to be a real boy. Writer Fred Van Lente could've easily gone a better way with giving us a character that is already established in the Robot Fighter world, and that is [without a doubt] a main character. Seeing Leeja's struggle against the Robot Fighters and 1A, and why it is she supports Robot domination would've been interesting to see! Basically, to see a human's view on being the puppet of a robot for a change. (Instead of vice versa.) But NOOOO! We got this story about a robot who is just straight up creepy, and eventually dies in the end to tie into the second issue [I think] of the series. Congratulations! (Sarcastic clap.) This is how you win over your audience!

2 out of 5, until the next one!
