I'll take Fassbender's Magneto as the better character in the movie as I dont remember Old Magneto doing anything as a character(Accidently choose McKellen in the poll)

Ian seemed like a better villain. The Magneto that we saw throughout the 70s and the 90s. Fassbender seemed more like the magneto as a anti-hero that we see today and in a little in the 80s. My vote goes to Ian. Mainly because I liked the old movies more.

I'm not voting :) They were both outstanding at playing Magneto during the different time periods they were portraying them in.

I actually liked Fassbender's more, not just because I liked the raw emotion he showed, but for another weird reason. To me, other than magnetism, McKellen always felt a little frail. Like Xavier and Magneto were around the same age, but the comic version of Magneto was always in good shape and the majority of artists draw him with pretty decent muscle definition (or you know...ripped). I wish they could of had someone that looked a bit more physically intimidating, which Fassbender pulls off better.

I like both, but at different times in the life of Magneto.

I like Fassbender as the young->middles aged Magneto that could/would have been the guy the original gimp-suited X-Men fought before getting popular. But since his origins is completely fixated on him being in a WWII death camp run by nazies... I very much like the gravitas McKellen brings with him in a portrayal of an aging supervillain.

Michael Fassbender gets the edge for me, but its apples and oranges. I much prefer the James McAvoy/Michael Fassbender X-men movies. Not just due to the acting, but the depth of the genesis of the mutants. Fassbender gives an emmotional roller coaster into the psyche of Erik Lensher. The joys and pains, victories and losses that led to the ultimate "birth" of Magneto all are portrayed brilliantly in these films. More depth, more emmotion, and much more development of character will nearly always make for a better role. Ian McKellen is a great actor as well. This choice was not a landslide, but was a pretty easy pick from my perspective.
