He’s racing to catch hold of a dream, is the young Sioux called Fango by his people. He wants to earn the respect of all those who know him and restore a ray of light into the heart of his grandmother, who for many moons seems to have been waiting for nothing but death. But his gift, his ability to run faster and more lightly than any other man, arouses the interest of Sonny, a race organizer who has no qualms about exploiting both the young Indian and also another unlucky “champion”, a black drifter nicknamed Hobo. Sonny couldn’t care less about their hopes, nor does he devote the slightest attention to their desires: as far as he’s concerned, Fango and Hobo are simply an investment, useful as long as it’s profitable... and for the two hopefuls, reaching the finish line might mean the difference between life and death if it weren’t for Magico Vento keeping watch over them!
