The peace and goodwill rite is in jeopardy because Iktomi, the Demon of Deception, wants to sow confusion and madness among Magico Vento’s tribe. It will be necessary to hold tight to the truth buried deep within one’s own heart, and to set off in hot pursuit of the demon until the horrible thing is forced to reveal its real appearance, if it’s genuinely to be defeated. But the white Lakota shaman will have to be very very careful because Iktomi is a nightmare that can kill!
