Dance for Two Demons; Falling Down to Heaven last edited by Darkside_of_the_Sun on 10/07/18 07:43PM View full history

This comic breaks into three reading aspects: (1) A Prose about the history of the Tarot and its relationship with Madame Xanadu, (2) The Madame Xanadu story "Dance for Two Demons" and (3) the back-up story "Falling Down To Heaven".

    Dance for Two Demons:

In this story there are two random wanderers to enter "freely" into Madame Xanadu's home.  Both wanderers seems unrelated at first but it seems they represent two characters of the tarot as their vices possess them. The first is a male drug user named Joseph (Who will represent the Kind of Wands) and the other is a curious female (Who will represent the Queen of Cups) who finds a Grimoire of destructive power. Both wanderers "fall in love" and a strange power takes over them and it is up to Madame Xanadu to stop them.

    Falling Down To Heaven:

This is a story about alien invasion.  This time it is Humans that are the invaders to a strange alien planet.  It is a story about the restrictive and self centered way of Humans.

    Dirty Tarot story. 0

May be this comic is just dated and that is why I was not blown away.  May be it is because I am Jaded and Miss the Vertigo Version already.  But that is the difference of this "mysterious" Madame Xanadu when compared to the fleshed out one Matt Wagner was writing.  I am not saying this is a bad comic, it is good for what it is, which is a horror story from the early 80s.  Mind you it is a horror story before what would become the Vertigo version of Swamp Thing.  Alan Moore's take on horror chan...
