    Filming is underway for the highly anticipated Luke Cage, which is set to hit Netflix in 2016. Recently, a slew of pictures from the set hit the internet showing Luke Cage (played by Mike Colter) at a local barbershop.

    All of the pictures show Colter as Cage and there's also a few of someone else as well. Released by ComingSoon, a few photos also feature actor Frankie Faison, whom we're just going to assume is "Pops" of "Pops Barbershop." Take a look at all the photos below.

    In addition to that, photos also surface of Mahershala Ali and Alfre Woodard as well. Ali plays Cottonmouth in the series and Woodard is playing Mariah Dillard.

    Luke Cage will hit Netflix sometime in 2016.

    Very excited for this, hoping we get an Iron fist appearance maybe in the last episode, but that is doubtful since they haven't even said who will be playing Iron Fist.

    If there isn't a running gag about the fact that a bald man is working in a barber shop I'll be very disappointed.

    Terry Crews is a better choice. At least physically.

    Colter should have hit the gym more. Dude's got a bit of a gut and a very average build to be playing Luke Cage.

    9/10 folks at my local gold's gym are more jacked than Colter.

    Not asking for even south of 10% body fat. Just lose the gut. Lazy preparation for a key role.

    If you're going to be slated to play an iconic hero or villain, unless fat is part of their character build (i.e. Wilson Fisk), then hell yeah, you should come into the role looking the part.

    Don't get me wrong, Colter is not that bad. Obviously. But he does have a gut, and he's not the most built actor out there playing the role of a superhero. Which in itself isn't so bad, if he weren't representing Power Man who's entire schtick revolves around physical power and strength.

    Very least, lose the gut.

    I'm not so worried as Actors can get ripped quite quickly if they need to. Christian Bale has made a living going from jacked to skinny and back to jacked in the roles he has played. Crews is crafted from Granite, but he has made alot of his money doing Comedy, and if Luke Cage is anything like Jessica Jones or Daredevil that's not going to mesh well.

    Colter is probably slightly bigger than I am, though I have better definition, so I know where you are coming from I guess.

    OK I'll float my boat. At present, I'm more built than Colter is in those pics without doubt. Not in the best shape I've been in at the moment either (I too have a bit of a gut at present), but I know I'd need roughly 4-6 weeks to have a full on six pack from where I'm standing now. I know, because I've done it so many times.

    • Protein heavy diet (200 grams a day), cut the carbs (no spiking your insulin levels);
    • Make sure you have a calorie deficit (burning more than taking in, based on sex, age, weight, activity levels etc.);
    • 6 days a week in the gym adding 1 minute cardio burst routines between each set (instead of just "resting") or a 20 - 30 minute HIIT session at the end of each workout.
    • Watch your liquid calories - no sodas, no alcohol for the duration. 20 - 30 glasses of water a day (minimum 3 liters). This includes those calorie rich dressings, sauces and dips folks like to lather their healthy choice foods with.

    The gripe is, the benefit of being a (relatively) high profile actor is having access to top tier personal trainers, having specialists on hand 24/7 to prepare your meals (should you request it), manage your diet and nutrition, and having access (if required) to the best and safest HGH available on the market to expedite and maximize the process (kidding yourself if you think many of the actor's full body transformations are done totally clean).

    @super_soldierxii: Those are good tips. I have a six pack atm, but I know for a fact that my soda and tea consumption have slowed the progression. I was unaware of the incorporating cardio into workouts until relatively recently, that was a lifesaver for me, and I noticed a difference almost immediately.

    Wait till you hit 30 bud (you're in your late teens, early 20's if I'm not mistaken?). Metabolism won't let you keep that six pack while downing cans of sodas or without eating clean and watching your calorie intake.

    Despite being a gym rat.

    Mind you, some folks are blessed with an extremely fast metabolism but that too is a double edged blade as they tend to have a hellishly hard time packing on even one pound of muscle despite best efforts. I'm lucky enough to be in the middle of the pack, but if I don't train regularly and at least moderately watch what I eat, I start getting really loose in the cage. Never happened in my 20's. Lived in the gym, but could eat and drink what I wanted while remaining cut.

    Nope. Haven't watched JJ yet. Not a lot of time for TV these days. But, obviously, my comments are based on these photos. And in these photos, he most certainly has a bit of a gut. Not when compared to your average everyday joe, but compared to gym goers? Yeah, that's a gut I'm afraid.
