    The Investigation

Lucy never gave up hope that her father and the other heroes survived and were just lost somewhere. She started her investigation into Sherlock Frankenstein, the once infamous supervillain that was now supposedly a legit CEO.

She followed a number of leads from Sherlock’s old crew. Her first lead was given to her by Grimjim, an inmate at Spiral Asylum. He said he saw Sherlock head into the big fight with the other heroes and disappeared after the bright light, but that was a lie. Both Cthu-Lou and Metal Minotaur claimed that Sherlock was in a meeting trying to rally his old crew to help the heroes against the Anti-God at the exact moment the bright light of Black Hammer’s strike went off and the heroes disappeared.

She got a brand new lead when Metal Minotaur identified a flashlight Lucy found in her father’s old lab to the guards as the Asylum. Playing a hunch, she found Sherlock holed up in the executive offices, hiding from the world. He shared with her his origin, his fall from grace, and his climb back up. He believed the heroes were dead, including his love Golden Gail, but Lucy was able to inspire him.

He committed his resources to Lucy’s cause and said it was about time for them to do something about the lack of heroes in this new age.

    Welcome to Rockwood

One day, Lucy made it to Rockwood, the strange force field prison town the heroes were being stuck in, but with no memories of how she got there.

Unfortunately, her father had perished testing the boundaries of the town's force field. She began investigating the town, which had a library of empty history books and a bunch of neutral faced zombies living in it.

Short on options, she grab's her father's weapon which turns her into the new Black Hammer and restores her memories of where they are and how they got there. Unfortunately, she vanishes before she could relay the information.

After vanishing, Lucy finds herself in The Anteroom, a metaphysical waiting room that looks like a pub. The bartender, Lonnie James, explains that it is a place for stories to wait until they are needed. He escorts her out the door and traps her in Hell just to get rid of her. There, she fumbles through a few more fictional worlds before realizing she is in the Cabin of Horror. With that new realization, she was able to escape into Dragonfly’s room.

Now that Lucy remembered everything she could explain the town of Rockwood to the others. They were all asleep in stasis pods on Col. Weird’s ship in the Para-Zone while their minds were kept in a magical illusion caused by the Cabin of Horror. This was due to a pact between Weird and Madame Dragonfly to save the universe. The killing of the Anti-God threw off the balance of light and dark. Weird and Dragonfly needed to take the heroes out in order to retain that balance. Lucy’s dad was killed when he tried leaving Weird’s ship and was exposed to the Para-Zone energies. With everyone awake, Weird took it upon himself to set auto-pilot to leave the Para-Zone.

Unfortunately, leaving the Para-Zone simply put them in yet another fabricated reality. Lucy woke up back in Spiral City as a waitress in a pizzeria and remembered her father as a police officer instead of a superhero. She was contacted by Walky, who was the only one to remember their previous lives, who convinced Lucy to find the black hammer so her memories could return. They teamed up to find the rest of their friends because according to the omens, the Anti-God was going to attack this reality.

Once they were re-assembled (except for Dragonfly), Lucy was teleported to New World, the home of the Lightriders, where she saw her dad and Starlok. Starlok admitted the only way to stop the Anti-God was for the superheroes (except Lucy) to disappear again and restore the balance. She returned to her friends and convinced them to find Dragonfly, who many were still holding a grudge toward. With Dragonfly, Lucy is able to convince her to remake the farm so they could all voluntarily live there rather than die.

With the other heroes gone, Lucy was able to stay in Spiral City as its defender.

While working with a Spiral City police officer in the 90s, Lucy started a rivalry with a deadly vigilante, Skulldigger. After she saves Lightning Rod, a two-bit criminal, from him, it is revealed that Skulldigger is working with Dr. Andromeda. Dr. Andromeda believes he is the key to the Para-Verse and is trying to open doorways to the Para-Zone to release the Anti-God. Lucy was forced to kill him to close his latest portal.

20 years later, Lucy was retired and settled into a domestic life, married to Lightning Rod with two kids and a desk job. When a portal to the Para-Zone opens up in Spiral City, everyone in her life expects her to pick up the hammer, but she refuses. As the rift to the Para-Zone gets worse, it starts mirroring another Spiral City on a collision course. She is visited by Col. Weird, who says this is all part of the pattern and acting cryptic as ever. To get her back as Black Hammer, he kills her family in front of her.

Reluctantly, she investigates the other Spiral City and is welcomed by her universe’s Skulldigger. They are also confronted by a heroic variant of Sherlock Frankenstein and his Liberty Squadron. As Skulldigger explains, he was working for the real Doctor Andromeda while the variant of Doctor Andromeda Lucy killed was an evil twin from thps other Spiral City. The real Doc was locked up in Spiral Asylum. Lucy and Skulldigger let themselves get caught so that they could break Doc out of jail.

The three of them made their getaway to the other Doctor Andromeda’s observatory, where they are confronted by the other world’s Sherlock. They try to explain their side of it, but Doctor Andromeda reveals himself to be the evil twin of Barbalien. The real Doctor Andromeda was being held hostage and forced to reopen the Para-Verse doorway for the evil variant of Black Hammer. The other Lucy was killed during the Anti-God’s attack, and Black Hammer was looking for a new daughter. Lucy briefly considered working with him when he promised to find variant of her family, but when they went to collect Lucy's mom, she rejected the false Black Hammer, inspiring Lucy to stand up to him.
