    Prelude To War

    Story
The Eighth Sin opens up this volume in a very grand and stunning fashion, not only does this stand alone issue have no lucifer in it but it still manages to be pretty good. The next story is a two-parter called Crux,it fouces on Lilith's plan for war on heaven and the other conspirters getting prepared thousands of years before. The Yahwey Dance is probably the best single issue ive read in  a while,it shows us Elaine learning to control the durmergic power bestoyed upon her by Michael. Our final tale of this volume is called The Breach in which Jill Presto prepares for the birth of her child and Lilith gathers her army to storm the Silver City.
    Art
It was really good to see Marc Hempel from the Kindly Ones return and Ronald Wimberly lushly drew the Yahwey Dance.
    Overview
Carey gets us ready for the final battle by gives us some really great stories. Most of the time Lucifer is absent from this trade but just like in Sandman everything kinda revolves around him.Climax Battles are usually very difficult to give but i know carey will never let me down.
