Lord Satanis who was an evil sorcerer  in league with Satan, came to earth to travel through the ages and rule for all time.

  MATTER/ENERGY MANIPULATION.--  to  the point at which constructs such as  a tree ,a dragon and a stone statue seemed alive.
ILLUSIONS---as  of himself that spoke and reasoned.
APPPEAR/DISSAPEAR-- CROSS TIME AND SPACE---DISPERSE/REASSEMBLE   THE ATOMS OF HIS PHYSICAL BODY
ENERGY BOLTS--fired from his hands--freed him from under an enormous rock slide like it was nothing. Knocked  Superman half way round the world.
Magical control of UNBREAKABLE BONDS   UNQUENCHABLE FIRE   POISONOUS SERPENTS
TELEPATHY---read Supermans mind with ease--others have gone mad in the attempt.
could PHYSICALLY MERGE WITH ANOTHER BEING.
Degree of  INVULNERABILITY--his only reaction to a haymaker punch from Superman was derision
STRENGTH not demonstrated,he could deliver all the practical effects of near limitless strengh by other means.
The sheer extent of his magic  could probably deliver almost any power or ability he  required or imagined
Superman was magically held gagged n bound ,used for an experiment ,put through agonising tortureand split in 2 ,all without the overall loss of his powers He was out cold or 1 half of him dead  at least twice.
Satanis ,s need to use Superman and the intervention of Syrene,gave Superman the time and chance to find a victory

COMMENT--
In a quick  and  uninterupted conflict  Satanis probably had the wherewithall to take all of Supermans powers and erase his remains from existance

At times its a shame about crisis changes at DC.  I would love to have seen this continue in DC or even crossovers.Lord Satanis is niether dead or depowered but around some time some place. If Syrene was left out of it  he had the stuff to take on Darksied/Thanos  Thor ---any of them.
