Loki was recently killed by Sentry during Siege #4 as Loki tried to stop Sentry. It was a somewhat "heroic death".
Now the issue is what do they do with Loki now, considering it was one of the big deaths in Siege and he is in the upcoming Thor movie for next summer. I do believe that Loki will return, he has died before and has connections with the after life. The thing is how will he return? Do they just bring him back as a villain? Don't really think so considering it would just be a repeat of what happened before when he came back.
My idea would be to bring back Loki in a female body again considering how "marketable" Lady Loki was. It should be somewhat easy to bring Loki back and even considering how Loki connects now to Hel and the afterlife. The character itself should now realize that her actions can spin out of control, which has happened before. I would also put her on a team and have her deal with them sort of like Emma Frost but of the Avengers.
