This is a really great idea. I think Lex joining the Justice League is a brilliant twist that actually makes a lot of sense. Captain Cold, not so much though. I hope they take this in a more interesting direction than ended up happening with Superior Spider-Man.
Lex Luthor
Character » Lex Luthor appears in 4366 issues.
Lex Luthor, Superman's arch-nemesis, is one of the most brilliant men alive, whose hatred of "interfering aliens" pushes him down the path of a sociopath. Known for his "ends justifies the means" approach to life, his single-minded and often brutal focus puts him at odds with The Man of Steel. Luthor is arguably DC Comics' most iconic villain.
Lex Luthor Becomes the Justice League's Newest Member
I think Superman will end up on Earth 3 and in his abscence Lex will appoint himself saviour. Maybe even take credit for Superman beating the Syndicate
Well then there's the big question :
WHERE THE HELL IS SUPERMAN !? And how/when will he recover from his injuries !?
This just grabbed my attention BIG TIME! I have been reading Superior Spider-Man and its crazy to see a villain mind trying to work as a hero and I wonder is this going to be something similar. If so you can count me in, because that means a whole lot of drama, conflict, and action. I really see a tug-of-war between Batman and Lex. Both are Smart, Rich and normal humans.
Lex Luthor in the Justice League? Pssssh, that'd be like having the Green Goblin lead the Aven-- Oh, wait.
All kidding aside, I actually think this is a pretty great idea. It could lead to some very interesting stories. I especially love seeing Captain Cold in the Justice League!
YES!!
This could be very good.
If Captain Cold is appearing in the new Justice League, does that mean Golden Glider wakes up from her coma and takes control of the Rogues?
Where the hell is Superman?
Where the hell is Superman?
My best guess is that the public don't trust him after he 'murdered' Doctor Light in cold blood. The heroes involved in Trinity War know the truth but the rest of the world doesn't. Since Lex Luthor will be spear heading the assault on the Crime Syndicate, the public will take to him like Norman Osborn in Secret Invasion and demand Lex be put in charge of the Justice League. Since the League will need to rebuild its rank and reputation, they'll have no choice but to submit to public demands and bring Lex Luthor into the fold to replace Superman who'll probably quit the League to save its face. My best guess only though.
So is this normal Lex Luthor or Earth 3 Lex Luthor?
Johns makes it sound like normal Lex Luthor in the interview but it could be Earth 3 Lex for certain. Also I take it you're pleased that DC are finally putting out a non Lantern space/sci fi title again? ;)
I'm thinking of getting Justice League United myself given the roster, direction and creative team on board.
So you can't give the Rogues their own comics. But you throw Captain Cold into the Justice League. This makes no sense to me. And by their own comic I mean an ongoing monthly that doesn't have to do with an event, that seems like nothing is happening.
And why does he still have his gun. I mean damn, can't let the man get his powers back. It would have been interesting to see how writers can make different ways of him using it.
@sandman_: As I said, it's only my best speculative guess mate. We can only hope DC aren't going to turn around all their worthwhile work this year on New 52 Superman thanks to Scott Snyder in Unchained and Greg Pak in Action Comics and Batman/Superman making Superman into a much more friendly, likeable and heroic figure again. Unfortunately, the rumours that John Romita Jr is coming on board the Superman series with an "A list writer" doesn't help the possibility of a new status quo -_-
This will be interesting. I can see Lex's ego getting in the way, but other than that, I'm intrigued to see what happens during this issue. Also, Captain Cold is coming along for the ride?! Say whhhaaaat!!!

I agree with this, it'l be along the lines. In your opinion, do you think Superman will still be featured in the comic, or completely absent?
These guys are actually fighting the Crime Syndicate - kill-happy versions of the League. They've gone above and beyond. They should be accepted. Superman and Lex can work together.
If you have been reading Forever Evil then you know Batman and Lex are working together to defeat the Crime Syndicate. Maybe after they defeat them Batman decides to give Lex the opportunity to prove himself further by letting him join the Justice League. And seeing how Superman and The Flash are absent from the picture maybe he has no choice. I can't wait to read this!

I hope it is normal Lex since it's more interesting when it's a bad guy but you never know
Hell yea I am, I was slightly miffed when they first announced it as JLC, not because it was in Canada but because they were using a cosmic character like Adam Strange on an earth based team but now it turns out it IS a cosmic team I couldn't be happier.
I'm going to start a blog later called something like 10 Books That Would Make The DCnU Better (it might not be 10) you should check it out.
Post Forever Evil seems to be an interesting circumstance given that in the DC universe we always knew who the good and bad guys were. I'm definitely interested in Superman's reaction but i kind have it figured out what he is going to do. I'm also wondering if this means Luthor will be challenging Batman's intellect and vice versa, getting down to who really is the smartest person in the universe. I have always liked Lex Luthor, weather he is trying to save the world or bury civilization, I just really hope it stays in Geoff Johns hands for now, he seems to have an idea.
Please batman stands no freaking chance against luthor.
I can see Cold joining the team either due to the death of his sister or his sister came out of the coma and became leader of the rogues once again, poor poor mick last issue...
I'm okay with this. Hell I actually like it!
Keep in mind, when written CORRECTLY Lex wants Superman gone because he thinks he's holding humanity back or someone with his level of power and access to alien technology is dangerous. Nothing says Lex won't play the good guy for a while, he could do it for years, but we all know he has an endgame up his sleeve.
I DO like the idea of villains joining, or ex villains. Kinda like Marvel's Thunderbolts which was a team for villains trying to go straight. Should be interesting. As long as DC doesn't try to make this one of those things where they show that Lex has a big plan in mind from the get-go and it's just a long stretch of revealing what he's doing? If it's a serious attempt to show Lex as a hero? Then fine, I'm good. Otherwise? Yeah it's a rehash of Norman Osborn's Dark Reign over at Marvel.
Wow, this is interesting....would Superman leave the league I can't see him being cool with this. Will Flash bounce because of Snart as well?
This has just become John's go to move in his wheelhouse. He does not like traditional heroes or normal acts of heroism and its become more obvious as time goes by.
The concept he is trying to do here is a tired and overdone its nothing original and could only really work to its full potential of blurring lines if the universe was not stuck in a misplaced grim dark depressing tone because all we are getting is more of the same.
