Minor spoiler if you haven't read FOREVER EVIL and JUSTICE LEAGUE #30 and #31.

After the events of FOREVER EVIL and Nightwing's identity being publicly exposed, Lex Luthor has discovered one of the biggest secrets in the DC Universe--he knows Batman's secret identity. Lex appears to now want to do good after helping save the day in FOREVER EVIL, but this is Lex Luthor we're talking about. He approached Bruce Wayne about his discovery.

Because Batman was forced to work with Lex to take on the Crime Syndicate, Lex became a hero. With the world not trusting the Justice League so much after the Syndicate's rampage, Lex pretty much forced his way onto the team. But Lex has always wanted to be the best. He wanted to be better than Superman and be the hero the world needs. The questions is, can be be trusted? Also, can he be trusted knowing Batman's secret identity?

Things are always changing in the New 52 so who can really say? While we can all voice our thoughts and opinions in the comments below, we also have a poll going to make it more official like.

That Batman's identity would get revealed to the public. Or at least a group of people who really shouldn't know who he is.

yes the secret is more then safe.

DC won't repeat the same mistake marvel did revealing spiderman identity, marvel trapped themselves with that story.therefore lex luthor will never tell the secret.

Plus we all know that joker already knows who he is and where he lives but doesn't care.

If only Superman still got his super-kiss to wipe Lex's memory.

Joker knows where he lives and who he is? I don't remember them saying that in DoTF

@mrtummytumms: It wasn't exactly outright stated, but in the conclusion to Death Of The Family, Bruce tells everyone the reason for why he was never actually worried about Joker's claim of being in the cave and knowing all their identities.

Some time in the past Batman discovered one of Joker's playing cards laying on the floor of the batcave. At the time he assumed that Joker had managed to follow the batmobile all the way back to the cave and that his whole identity must have been blown (though in reality the card was just stuck to the batmobile and fell off when it pulled into the cave). The next time Joker was back in Arkham, Bruce decided to confront Joker in his civilian identity (bringing the playing card he found along with him), but Joker was completely unresponsive; Almost as if he were choosing to believe that Bruce Wayne wasn't even there. Bruce then concludes that Joker's obsession with him begins and ends with the Batman identity. Maybe Joker knows Batman's identity but chooses to ignore it, or maybe his psychosis prevents him from ever really making the connection between the two identities. Its left kinda vague, I found.

I think Batman can trust that Lex Luthor will not tell anyone about his identity as long as Batman does what Lex Luthor wants.

Luthor doesn't care about Batman, Bruce's secret is safe...unless Luthor thinks he knows something about Superman. =D

Lex could if he wanted to but he doesn't care. He has the same mental block that the Joker has. He only wants to destroy Superman. He could give a damn who he is during the day. Also I think his ego would not allow him to believe that his years of planning elaborate schemes for world conquest were halted at every turn by a hick, reporter from Kansas.

We all know Lex Luthor, the minute he messes up the world will hate him again, he oust Bruce Wayne being Batman as some sort of leverage. Luthor maybe a Leaguer now, but trusting him is not an option unless he proves himself to Batman.

Batman stands for everything, Lex thinks superman, and Metas, take from humanity. I think the best parts of Lex would not want to destroy Batman for that very reason, even to stay out of jail.

As long as Batman doesn't tempt him.

I hope Luthor learns Superman is Clark Kent. I think it would make things more interesting if there was a secret social war aspect to their relationship. Like how Peter Parker and Norman Osborn used to be back in the day.
