Legion Lessons
Long time Legion writer Paul Levitz has been joined with Francis Portela to create another run of the Legion of Super-Heroes. So far they are four issues into the run. Are thinks great?
THE GOOD:
The art is okay. It's detailed and the lines are well defined. Character expression is also very present in the art and I think that is an important part of the artist duties of penciling. The writing is where I love the Legion of Super-Heroes however. In this issue we get to see Element Lad teaching the recent Legion Academy members. We also get to see the Dominators as they start to make their way back. We also get a great scene between Brainiac 5 and Dreamgirl.
THE BAD:
I like the art a lot, but there is something about it that keeps me from loving it. I also really hope that this isn't the end of the Dominators. Really, the Legion told them to go, and they did. I wish we would've got a more epic conclusion.
THE VERDICT: 4/5 (Great)
Legion of Super-Heroes is my favorite super hero team and I love them. I know that there is a lot to follow in the Legion and a lot of things going on. I think that if you read them, you will get to like them and see why they are great. If you like a good story about high-tech and future heroes this is going to be your stuff. I would recommend that people at least try this series because it could be something that's really great.
