Saito Productions was founded in 1960 and is the company of Takao Saito (famous and prolific creator, best known for his serial Golgo 13 which has been ongoing for six decades). Besides being one of the longest manga serials in history, the series is also one of the best-selling and has been distributed by Leed since 1973 (despite being serialized in a Shogakukan magazine).
Leed's premier manga magazine initially was Leed Comic which began in 1971 but since the late 90's it has primarily serialized manga through its Comic Ran magazines (Comic Ran and Comic Ran Twins being the most prominent). Many of the publisher's best-known franchises are associated with Takao Saito (though generally they involve other creators writing or illustrating them).
