All vampires are spawn of Lilith, the dark mother. But not all vampires are sired by the same demon, hence the different breeds and variations. The Lamiae are among the oldest of Lilith's progeny, said to be born of her congress with the serpent of the Garden of Eden. The Lamiae once existed in great numbers in ancient times. They can go forth during the day and they always dwelt in wild places, luring away hapless young shepherds and unwary travelers.
They were common during ancient times, but the rise of technology and the increasing development of the native habitat have put them on the endangered species list.
The last Lamiae had her habitat on Scylla's rock on the island of Lamos. Vampirella and Lord Drago went to the island to kill it. Lord Drago gave Vampirella the Harpe, which was used by Perseus to behead Medusa. She used it to kill the Lamiae. It was later discovered that the Lamiae had laid an egg.
