Death Becomes Her
100 Words Or Less
Lady Death returns to comics in this new ongoing from Boundless Comics. An enemy by the name of Death Queen has laid siege to the castle protected by Valora and Lady Death. Lady Death does battle with Queen Death, only to be defeated and sent back in time to 1351. Will Lady Death be able to return back to the future and find out who Death Queen is? So Then I Said...
I never read any Lady Death comics when they first came out. It was a chick with white skin, big boobs, and hardly dressed in anything. I couldn't flip through the comic without feeling like a perv, much less buy an issue. However, I'm more mature now and there's no stigma attached to picking up a comic with a big boobed chick wearing less than a bikini. Plus, this issue was free so there wasn't really a choice. This issue is short. Very short. Death Queen, with a Lady Death mask, attacks and defeats Lady Death. Why? I don't know. Who is Death Queen? Not sure. What's the history between Valora and Lady Death? I hope to find out. This stand-alone comic serves the same purpose as a preview that you sometimes find at the end of other feature-length comic books. Could it have been done that way? Sure. But then, I don't think as many people would be exposed to it than had it been a stand-alone issue for free. I would definitely not pick up a comic I don't usually pick up just so I could get a preview of the upcoming ongoing. So kudos to Boundless Comics for doing this.
From what I've read, does it make me exciting for the new ongoing? Not really. I have no clue what's happening but I guess that's why there's a solicit for a collected editions of past issues at the end of this book. Will I go read those collected editions? No, I don't really feel the desire to. I guess the only question is whether I will buy the new ongoing when it comes out.
