Originally thought to be chosen by chance, it was later revealed that Ganthet chose Kyle Rayner because he had the ability to harness the powers of the emotional spectrum. Once the Torchbearer of the Green Lantern Corps, Kyle graduated to the role Ganthet had intended for him: the White Lantern. After the White Ring is separated into seven rings, Kyle returns to being a Green Lantern Corpsman.
Nope. I'm betting the First Lantern screws him out of it with reality powers, or he otherwise is so disturbed by what happens during the Wrath of the First Lantern, that he can't maintain his emotional equality and loses the balance necessary to maintain the White Lantern Power.
He either will, or become a variant of such. He is now a true hybrid lantern. So there is plenty of space for him to be defined as either or as things continue to unfold.
I hope so. Too many Earth Green Lanterns right now.
I'd also like to see Guy Gardner maybe go to the Red Lanterns, or maybe see John Stewart move to the Indigo Tribe (though their new explanation would make that hard.) That way you could have Hal on Green Lantern, either Gardner or Stewart on Corps with a bunch of the non-Earth Lanterns, Baz on JL of America, and Kyle in the New Guardians.
Yeah he did. It's been a status quo change for the better I have to say since Kyle is back in an important role and is working on a unique mission within the Green Lantern universe.
