    Astro City Vol. 1 #5

So in this issue we meet an old retired man, who reveals himself as an alien. He is here on Earth to observe humanity and prepare his race to invade earth. He has finished his report, but has second thoughts on if to send it or not. So he decides to Observe one of Astro Citys champions. His name is Cracker Jack, and unfortunately, for all the good he tries to do. He is less than a stellar example of human decency.

This is one of my favorite books in the mini series. The alien doesn't impress me much, but he is there as a link for the audience. A plot device nothing more. Cracker Jack interests me as a window into our view of celebrities. There is definite subtext to this mini series. This issue tackles a couple of subjects. My favorite being the tried and true look for evil and you will find it.

Over all a great story, i can highly recommend it.
