Prior to joining the Green Lantern Corps, Krydel-4 was part of the robotic drone army of the Blight. Since little information is available about the Blight in the 21st century, it is not known if Krydel-4 is solely a technological creation, or if he is a techno-organic symbiont. Somehow his mind was able to overcome the Blight programming to lead a group of freedom fighters and drive off the intergalactic nomads.

In a variant future that was shifted to a different timeline due events in the so-called Infinite Crisis, the Blight rose to threaten the 31st century United Planets. The nomadic Blight would assimilate entire civilizations. They were ultimately driven off by that timeline’s version of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Krydel-4 was one of eight Green Lanterns gathered by Lantern Administrator Salakk to prevent Honor Lantern Guy Gardner from disturbing the Guardians of the Universe. Gardner argued he was long overdue for shore leave and demanded to have an audience with the Guardians. Despite their superior numbers, the eight Lanterns were no match for Gardner, who was finally calmed down by Green Lantern Kilowog. Disappointed by their performance, Salakk ordered Arx, G’hu, Krydel-4 and Vandor to combat reorientation.

It is believed Krydel-4 fought in and survived the Sinestro Corps War. His current activities have yet to be recorded.
