Originally from the planet Utrominon in Dimension X, where he was raised in a war-torn area as the son of Emperor Quanin, Krang rose to power as a dictator, commanding an army of Rock Soldiers with the fanatical General Traag directly below him. He built the Technodrome with Von Drakus, but banished Drakus to Earth soon after. At some point an unknown incident occurred, and he was stripped of his body and exiled to Earth, bringing the Technodrome along with him. There, he found an ally in Shredder, and enemies in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Krang was originally created for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated television series, first broadcast in 1987, based on the Utroms. He was created by David Wise and Patti Howeth. He made his first appearance in comics in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures #1, written and illustrated by Michael Dooney.

    Major Story Arcs

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Upon arriving on Earth, Krang forms an alliance with Shredder. Shredder and his Foot Clan are allowed use of the Technodrome and in return, Shredder creates an exo-suit to act as Krang's new body, largely due to his need for Krang's assistance in defeating the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The pair continue to work together in pursuit of defeating the Turtles and taking over the Earth for some time. Krang usually does not get personally involved in the fighting itself, preferring to organize others and to rely on his Technodrome.

After several years on Earth, he and Shredder were trapped in Dimension X for some time. A man called Lord Dregg offered to return them to Earth, but betrayed them, draining Krang's intelligence in the process. Shredder was able to restore him, but the pair is ultimately returned to Dimension X.
