Russ Manning’s artwork is outstanding. In addition to providing his usual fan service by being a walking shirtless scene, Korak becomes a dude in distress twice in one of the stories. In the first story, Korak and his ape friend Ahkut are spotted by a group of aliens. Ahkut and then the jungle boy are shot with paralyzing beams. They are carried into the alien ship and flown to an alien planet. Later in the story, Korak returns to Earth with Ahkut in the alien ship. The jungle boy is knocked unconscious when he crash lands the ship into a lake. Ahkut wakes him up before the ship sinks. In both stories, Korak comes across as a handsome boy scout in a leopard-skin loincloth. He has a good heart that propels him into action, often impetuously. Fortunately, he has strength, agility, and intelligence to back it up. In the first story, after being captured and taken to an alien planet, he escapes and helps the humanoid inhabitants regain control of it. In the second story, he saves an albino ape baby from an evil witch doctor.
