I picked up the first issue and wasn't suuuper impressed but I've been hearing good things. Anybody recommend it?

It's meh. I mean...Superboy had Geoff Johns and Francis Manapul for a creative team but ever since it was all...eh...I think it doesn't compare to Johns' and Manapul's run on the character. Stand-alone the recent series is okay, I mean they're trying to put a little too much emphasis on Superboy's non-Kryptonian powers, though.

I've enjoyed the emphasis on the non-Kryptonian powers, but I've found the series really inconsistant quality-wise. One month it will be great, the next…meh. And the artist makes everyone's eyes yellow, which really bothers me.

It's no where near as good as before. But at least, they are trying ;/
