In the 80s, Kittyhawk was just a stray cat in Astro City until the night she was bathed by a mysterious ooze in a battle between Nightingale, Sunhawk and Pipe Johnny. The substance gave Kittyhawk powers and marks similar to the ones of Nightingale, who adopted the mutated cat, wondering if her new pet could also developted any powers.
Unknown to Nightingale and Sunhawk, Kittyhawk has helped them in their crusade against crime with the help of other superpower pets, such as Rocket Dog. Depiste being an above average intelligent animal, Kittyhawk retains the typical behavior of the cat, including pushing things out of shelves.
