Step Aside Bond! (Spoiler Free)
There's a new British spy in the business! This movie is one of the biggest and best surprises i've had in theaters in a long time. While this movie is based on Millar's Secret Service comic series it is however not very close to the comic at all. The movie is an incredibly diverse combination of elements. Its serious but at the same time hilarious. Gory but at the same time not overly excessive. Its rare that a film can balance these out but Kingsman does and does it damn well. I won't go into detail due to spoilers but I will give a brief summary. Eggsy a troubled kid living in council housing gets dragged into the world of spying when Harry Hart decides to fulfill a debt he owed his father. He is trained to become a member of Kingsman. An independent Secrecy Service agency (who all have stereotypical English-Bond style accents).
Trying to give a comparison to another movie to show what the theme of it is like is quite hard. Its kind of like a hybrid baby of James Bond, Kick-Ass and Guardians Of The Galaxy. This movie does however prove too things:
1. Colin Firth was an unknown bada$$
2. Cheery music can be played along with mass murder and not feel out of place!
