These are the newest pieces to somehow leak out to the public. To the left we have a closeup of Kilowog, which looks pretty awesome if you ask me. To the right we have Abin Sur, and two shots of Tomar Re, one of them being a close-up shot. Variety had some more detailed info on the people actually working on the fx that will be based off of this art.
Say what you want about the other films, but the special FX of those films were pretty awesome (except for Imaginarium, I never saw it, so I can't tell you if the FX were any good or not). With people like that working on this film, you know at least the special effects and character designs are going to be awesome.Overall vfx supervisors on the project are Karen Goulekas ("The Day After Tomorrow") and Kent Houston ("The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus"). Jim Berney ("I Am Legend") will be vfx supervisor for Imageworks.
Project reunites Houston with helmer Martin Campbell; pair worked together on "Edge of Darkness."
Imageworks' superhero credits include "Watchmen" and "Superman Returns" for Warners as well as the Spider-man franchise.
