Although the Kick-Ass 2 comic seems like it'll be right around the corner, the movie seems a lot further away, according to Aaron Johnson, who played the main character Dave AKA Kick-Ass in the first film. Moviefone recently interviewed the actor about whether or not the fans would be seeing a Kick-Ass 2 anytime soon.

Recently, Mark Millar, the writer of the Kick-Ass comic book, talked with Mtv and told all the fans that "We're probably about nine months away from production starting, at the earliest, because Matthew Vaughn's got to do X-Men: First Class... Matthew just wants to get 'X-Men' done next year, then hopefully we'll just go straight into 'Kick-Ass 2,' that's the plan." Things seemed to have changed a bit since then. Vaughn is a pretty busy guy right now and according to Aaron Johnson, the lead of Kick-Ass 1, the fans will have to wait: "Mark Millar's very enthusiastic about it, yeah, definitely. I mean, I think he's sort of set it up for a second one, but it kind of goes through Matthew Vaughn, and what have you, and they're not going to make one any time soon.... The way I heard was that we were going to wait until, I don't know, and it's, you know, it's not any time soon, I don't think. They're going to hold off and wait for that anticipation, I suppose."  What's a fan to do?
    == TEASER ==
Mark Millar, the writer of the Kick-Ass comic, also has a lot on his plate as his book Nemesis will be making it to the big screen and it's supposedly being directed by Tony Scott. According to Johnson, Millar is also working on Wanted 2 and War Heroes. Johnson really doesn't seem to be into the whole "playing the comic book hero" thing though. "Really, to me, I feel 'Kick-Ass' was, you know -- and it's quite funny because 'Kick-Ass' was all about, you know, sort of playing on [the stereotypes] of 'Batman' and 'Spider-Man,' all those sort of things -- so I don't know. Not really... If something comes around, fine, I'd love it, but these few years [have been] all about comic book movies nowadays."

So it looks like Kick-Ass fans will have to wait before they'll see a sequel; however, Millar fans will get to see Nemesis on the big screen instead, which is a lot like Batman + Insanity - Morals. Or it's Kick-Ass's version of Batman. What do you guys think? Do you mind waiting for a new Kick-Ass film? Would you see Nemeis?

When you are going to have a movie based on comic book I have always felt that the comic book that it is based on should be actually out.

I must be in the quite majority or quite minority that enjoyed the first movie, but this I assumed they would be waiting until the comic had finished or only had an issue or two left, before they'd start doing anything with the movie.

I enjoyed Kick-Ass.  I really did.  And I didn't even finish reading the comics.

But as far as comic book movies that came out this year, I fell for Scott Pilgrim. And I never read any of those novels.  I think I see a trend...

There's no point to a sequel to this film. It was supposed to a satire fan boys who constantly hound writers on how super heroes should be. the joke ended and I'd rather see a Watchmen 2 than a Kick Ass 2.

I'm surprised Millar didn't push for Vaughn to direct to Nemesis movie. He could've done a hell of a job with the story.

I like to read the book before the movie anyway so who cares if it comes out year later then.  I hope Scott doesn't kill Nemesis like Wanted was butchered.

Kick-Ass version of Batman... Awesome. Well at least that means they'll have time to figure out some of the issues with Kick-Ass 2.

I really don't like the idea of Nemesis becoming a movie at all but I don't mind them waiting for the whole comic to come out first and then make the second movie.

I can't wait for the next Kick-Ass movie to come out and I don't really want to wait. The first movie, although it strayed from the comic, was really, really good in my opinion. I didn't even mind Nicolas Cage in it (and I really can't stand him). Doesn't matter when it comes out, I'll still be seeing it

I found the movie entertaining but I could wait for a sequel a while, got a lot going on in the entertainment department anyway, a lot of good movies and good tv shows around now a days.

I enjoyed the movie very much but don't really know what they have planned for the sequel. I know the second book starts off right after the first. I was hoping they may wait till girl is a little older and how she deals with being HitGirl as a teenager. Sort of like an old almost Clint Eastwood movie, she was out of it and they had to drag her back into it but she is only still a teenager.

Mark Millar is Hollywood's new favorite subjects.
People talk a lot about his comics/films, so there's always free "hype" there. They're not that much expensive to make. They'll sell like hot cakes on DVDs and Blurays (and rentals).

Oh, and producers can buy the franchises and start making the movie before the book being released :P

Damn straight. And if they need to take longer to make the movie awesome, I don't mind.
