Recently, Mark Millar, the writer of the Kick-Ass comic book, talked with Mtv and told all the fans that "We're probably about nine months away from production starting, at the earliest, because Matthew Vaughn's got to do X-Men: First Class... Matthew just wants to get 'X-Men' done next year, then hopefully we'll just go straight into 'Kick-Ass 2,' that's the plan." Things seemed to have changed a bit since then. Vaughn is a pretty busy guy right now and according to Aaron Johnson, the lead of Kick-Ass 1, the fans will have to wait: "Mark Millar's very enthusiastic about it, yeah, definitely. I mean, I think he's sort of set it up for a second one, but it kind of goes through Matthew Vaughn, and what have you, and they're not going to make one any time soon.... The way I heard was that we were going to wait until, I don't know, and it's, you know, it's not any time soon, I don't think. They're going to hold off and wait for that anticipation, I suppose." What's a fan to do?

Mark Millar, the writer of the Kick-Ass comic, also has a lot on his plate as his book Nemesis will be making it to the big screen and it's supposedly being directed by Tony Scott. According to Johnson, Millar is also working on Wanted 2 and War Heroes. Johnson really doesn't seem to be into the whole "playing the comic book hero" thing though. "Really, to me, I feel 'Kick-Ass' was, you know -- and it's quite funny because 'Kick-Ass' was all about, you know, sort of playing on [the stereotypes] of 'Batman' and 'Spider-Man,' all those sort of things -- so I don't know. Not really... If something comes around, fine, I'd love it, but these few years [have been] all about comic book movies nowadays."
So it looks like Kick-Ass fans will have to wait before they'll see a sequel; however, Millar fans will get to see Nemesis on the big screen instead, which is a lot like Batman + Insanity - Morals. Or it's Kick-Ass's version of Batman. What do you guys think? Do you mind waiting for a new Kick-Ass film? Would you see Nemeis?
