Kevin was once a member of the special forces at Project Cadmus until he was injured during the Doomsday affair. The results of the injury were the loss of use of his legs and the loss of his right eye. He "volunteered" for the Cauldron project. The Cauldron is a clone of Kevin which is "cyber-genetically enhanced". During the testing phase, Dabney Donovan was able to override and take control of Cauldron and run amuck in Metropolis. A battle between Superman and Cauldron followed. As the battle continued, a condemned building with several homeless people was nearing collapse. As a last act of bravery, Cauldron held the building up until Superman was able to get the homeless people out. Cauldron was destroyed in the process.
