Kek-W is a UK-based writer of comic-books, graphic novels, prose fiction, film and TV. His work crosses different genres, including horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action-adventure, war, humour-satire. He has created a number of original characters and concepts for publishers, revamped existing licensed properties, built new fictional worlds and rebooted flagging or defunct brands.
In recent years, Kek has written Fall of Deadworld, the acclaimed dark horror re-imagining of Judge Dredd's evil nemesis, Judge Death and his Dark Judges, with artist Dave Kendall. A hardback edition of the 3rd volume was reprinted in Sept, 2021.
The Order, a unique time-bending fantasy-adventure property with a diverse cast co-created with veteran British artist, John M Burns, is now on its sixth series and has recently been reprinted in Germany and Brasil. 2019’s satirical inter-dimensional sci-fi series, Indigo Prime, nailed Britain's post-Brexit Zeitgeist by having a giant William Burroughs help insurgents storm the Houses of Parliament and battle a cyborg Margaret Thatcher on the week the real-life UK Parliament was shut down.
With artist Simon Coleby he redeveloped the early 1970's horror-adventure strip, Black Max, that featured a demonic WW1 German fighter pilot and his squadron of giant vampire bats, rebooting it in a modern setting with an expanded universe and socially relevant cast for the UK games and publishing company, Rebellion.
Other credits include writing Commando comics in the UK, Captain Dinosaur for the US company, Image Comics, and numerous comic strips and text stories for Ahoy Comics in the States.
He is currently writing a number of creator-owned characters and strips that include the retro horror-espionage series The Screaming Hand! with artist Conor Boyle. He is also developing properties for film, TV and other media.
