    Kariooq is a member of the Great Beasts, supernatural beings who were exiled into their home dimension to keep them from overtaking the earthly realm. Kariooq first encountered Alpha Flight when they travelled to the Realm of the Beasts in an attempt to recover the sould of Walter Langkowski. Kariooq was easily defeated by Shaman who used ice, Kariooq's ancient enemy to stop the Great Beast.

    Creation

    Kariooq was created by John Byrne in 1985 and first appeared in Alpha Flight # 24. 

    Powers Abilities

    Kariooq is capable of corrupting matter. As a mythological creature, he may possess other powers.

    Weaknesses

    Kariooq is vulnerable to ice which he refers to as "the great preserver."
