In your opinion, what should be included in an upcoming live-action Justice League film? I'll start.

1: A good villain. This has to be one of the most important things. Contrary to what you may think, what the Green Lantern film truly lacked was a good villain. We all love Parallax, but we do not love a big headed (literally) geek and a large flying terd (also literally) as the main villains. The Justice League needs a villain who fans will love as much (or more) as they love the heroes and give the Justice League the fight they've been waiting for.

2: Do not base it around Batman. Yes, Batman is popular and awesome, but it is not a smart decision to base the entire movie around him. The members of the Justice League are are all partners, they're not just Batman's henchmen. Every character should play their own important role in the film.

    3: No John Stewart.

    What do you guys think?

    1. Have Superman lead the team.

    2. Hal Jordan is a must have. Hal Jordan is the biggest and greatest GL.

    • Original 7 members
    • Lead-in movies (for all members would be nice, but I'll let Batman and Martian Manhunter slide if the DCCU is started with Man of Steel)
    • Good script
    • Good effects
    • Good use of DCU mythos
    • Equal or near equal focus on each character

    • Either the Year One roster or the Original Seven.
    • Superman leads the team.
    • Wonder Woman is the warrior Amazonian she should be.
    • Don't make Hal that obnoxious, and give Barry a personality.
    • Everyone on the roster proves their worth. I want people thinking highly of Aquaman and Martian Manhunter.
    • Must have a greater or equal "final boss" scene than the Avengers.
    • A villain/villains that can tie-in to any/all the Leaguers.
    • Spin-off films after JLA. Honestly, if WB was serious about bringing in the JLA and having people appreciate them more than the Avengers, then they have to approach it differently. So, if they did a full-blown JLA film first, then break them down individually after, I'll be impressed.

Oh, and if I have to choose actors, I pick

    • Henry Cavill- Superman
    • Michael Fassbender- Batman
    • Michelle Rodriguez- Wonder Woman (For an ethnic-look. Honestly, I have no better suggestions otherwise, lol)
    • Nathan Fillian- Hal Jordan
    • Neil Patrick Harris- Flash (Although, he's getting older. I'm open to better suggestions.)
    • Martian Manhunter- Djimon Hounsou
    • Alexander Skarsgard- Aquaman

good villain, maybe base it somewhat around justice league #1 new 52,however if you say let superman lead the team...then no,its better if batman leads it,i think that the trinity should lead the team (superman, batman, wonder woman) meaning they make the important decisions in private,(however it should more likely be wonder woman and/or batman because they have way more experience than him in that stuff, especially tactics IMO)

    oh and the usual,good script,good actors,etc.

I'm going in the opposite direction. Give me the New 52 roster. I dont need the nostalgia of the original seven. In fact the first new JLA story arc would work just fine for me. I'm out.

@AweSam: It's more offensive to be completely ignored. And John Stewart adds more to the team than just being Black. He's a more compelling character than Hal and his relationship with Wally and Bruce are hilarious.

WAYYYYY Better than Douche Jordan and Milktoast Allen.

    1. Roster needs to include the original 7: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter

    2. I would prefer there to be a JLA film series instead of DC copying what Marvel did by making lead-in films. For instance, the first film could deal with the origins of the 7 and there first meeting with another during some sort of alien invasion. Then at the end of the first film (as a cliffhanger) introduce a powerful villain (such as Darkseid or Brainiac). This will lead on to a second film.

    3. Of course the mandatory good script, good casting, good acting, sufficient story vs. action ratio etc.

    1. To minimize risk, use only the 5 most popular icons : Clark, Bruce, Diana, Barry and Hal. If feedback is ok, then proceed with solo movies for Diana, Barry and hal.
    2. To minimize risk, start with the best Justice league villain : Darkseid. Justice league has too many lame villains.
    3. Equalize the power levels of the 5 icons so that Superman and Green Lantern don't dominate the Justice League. Reduce the powers of Superman so that Superman and Wonder Woman and Green Lantern are equally strong. Reduce the powers of Green Lantern to just energy constructs so that Green Lantern can't do anything and everything. Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern should not have super speed so Flash can shine. Superman should not be super smart so Batman can specialize on providing brain power.

Just get the DCAU people involved and let them make the decisions.

We can talk all we want about what a Justice League film "must have" but the right people can make just about any idea work.

After all, who would have thought that a show about teenage Batman set in the future could ever work?

I think it needs to be an Earth based villain for the first time film, or perhaps a supernatural threat. Just stay away from alien villains, because an invasion type movie would garner all sorts of controversy about "copying the Avengers."

I'd honestly avoid Darkseid as the main villain for a first JLA movie. Mostly because Darkseid should be something saved for when the ante gets upped. Have them save the world against another threat, then you spring the God of Evil on them.

Bonus points if Darkseid gets to give the speech from Final Crisis.

    Here are my thoughts:

Luthor as a villain. He can scheme something that will endanger the planet. I am sure he's capable of that. Alien villains can wait for later installments.

It doesn't have to be an origins movie. Just let people think that these are established characters who will come together to form a team. Batman and Superman are well known to all. Green Lantern movie sucked, but still people know his name. Animated movies have done a good job of showcasing the likes of Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter. We see movies about new characters all the time. They'll be fine without an origins movie.

All characters NEED to get significant screen time. It does not have to be necessarily the same amount of time, but enough to make them memorable.

No one needs to be the leader. Its just 7 glorious superheoes and none of them are amateurs.

Doesn't have to be called Justice League of AMERICA. Just Justice League will do fine.

Making characters like Flash and GL look good will need top notch special effects. Hopefully, they will not slack.

And most importantly, they need to make it like a DCU movie. Nolan's Batman is great, but other heroes do no exist in that universe anywhere. GL movie that came out had Abin Sur as the first alien to land on Earth. That will have to change. Superman himself is an alien and everyone should know that. And he definitely came to Earth years before Abin Sur. They need to sync everything together. That's something Marvel has done pretty impressively.

Choosing Hal Jordan or John Stewart will depend on the script I guess, They can go either way, depending on the situation they wanna play with.

Marvel's Avengers and X Men:First Class were great, but they changed a LOT from the comics, including the original team. In case of a Justice League movie, I'd want them to stick with the comics version.

I would like to see them come out with a JL cartoon giving the origins of the Orignal 7 sort of how Marvel did Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I think by them doing that it also helped with the movie. I totally agree on introducing a powerful villain I'm more for Darkseid myself.

    No.

On the contrary, yes. This would work just fine, if the Avengers is any indication of how a team based superhero movie should be.

    Heroes:

-Batman played by Christopher Nolan. I know he's not perfect, but everyone knows him so it minimizes the risk.

-Superman played by Henry Cavill, so we don't need yet another origin story, and to cash on the inevitable popularity of Man of Steel

-John Stewart Green Lantern, played by Djimon Honsou. Not for racial reasons. If he's introduced as the GL after Hal Jordan, we can keep the recent GL movie canon without needing to have Ryan Reynolds the whole way through. We could even have Ryan Reynolds DIE!!!!

-Wonder Woman played by Evangeline Lilly. No real reason, she just seems like someone who could pull it off.

-Barry Allen Flash played by Neil Patrick Harris, as long as he doesn't make it too over the top.

-Martian Manhunter, but as a Hawkeye character who isn't focused on too much, because he's not that well known to non-DC fans. No idea who should play him.

    Villain:

Darkseid. This may be pulling out the big guns too early, but as long as he's used correctly old Uxas should make it an exciting movie.

    Details:

-Needs to be dark. To separate it from the Marvel movies, we can't have the happy-go-lucky cheer of the Avengers. Not grim Doom and Gloom, but the characters should be believable, and for the threat of Darkseid to be taken seriously it needs real seriousness and weight.

-Like Nolan's Batman movies, there should be some deep ideas explored here. Do we need heroes? Does it make things worse? What makes these characters tick? That's why the Dark Knight was so great, and that's how this film can really be a winner.

@AweSam: To me it would be

    1. A good villian- Brainiac or Darkseid would be my choices

    2. the original seven, Batman, Superman, WW, MM,Flash, GL, Aquaman

    3. As from the John Stewart for racial equality...meh, I'd rather have Hal, if you must have a black guy, just make MM's human guise black.

    4. Reboots/sequels/tie ins- Reboot Batman and Superman for the film, make a sequel to GL, and tie in movies for Flash, WW, and possibly MM

@The Stegman: I think Brainiac would make sense since he's fairly well-known.

As much as I love the flash and think he would be great in his own movie, I have a hard time seeing him being translated well into a team movie. Any time you want to show him doing anything during a fight, they will have to put the film into slow motion. I think that those sequences would be awesome but they would have to do it so frequently that it may detract from all the action going on because they would keep slowing it down just to show him doing things. He works great on paper because you can draw him on the same panel in 15 different places. They would definitely have to find a balance on how often to do the motion capture on him and figure out how to show that he is still active while everyone else is fighting at normal speed.

Must be based on the human part of super heroes and not in his powers.

No SuperBatman or anything from the JL animated show.

Base them in TAS, they have power but can lose.

Superman gets really weaker, slower, dumber and more mortal.

No alien invasion, the Avengers are the copy and for the same, nothing of copying them.

Base the villains on their human part, for the same use Lex Luthor, he can use the villains ans is smart enough to beat the JL.

No Darkside, DC has many great villains, going with him always is gettting boooorrrrrriiiing.

Every single on of them has a reason to be part of the team, if they face aliens it could feel as if Superman by himself could dby himself beat them, if every single one of them is part , it must be for a reason.

No Superman as a leader, Batman, Wonder Woman and GL could take this role when they need them, heck even Aquaman and Flash, but most of the movie they dont have a leader.

Superman isnt smarter that Batman, faster that Flash, stronger that GL, better figther that Aquaman, Batman and Wonder Woman, not faster or stronger in water that Aquaman, he is a more complete hero, but still those guys cant beat him using their strong point, so it make sense that Superman is a team member.

Deathstroke needs to be in the movie.

I'm going in the opposite direction. Give me the New 52 roster. I dont need the nostalgia of the original seven. In fact the first new JLA story arc would work just fine for me. I'm out.

    This.

Also, I dont see the need to "top the Avengers", if it's as good as the Avengers was, I'll throw a Batdamn party

A black Superman, Batman's the leader, John Stewart as the gl and not Hal Jordan, that's all I can think of for now.

I only need one thing, for all JL members (who ever they cast) to be in full costume within the first 15 minutes of the film.

    • Original team line-up, except maybe swap Hal with John. If a GL reboot is done, I would like John to star.
    • Villain could be either Starro, Darkseid, Deathstroke, Injustice League, Lex Luthor, etc.
    • Pacing similar to Amazing Spider-Man but a little slower to give time for development. I'll probably get flamed for this, but at times the Avengers did get a bit boring. For example, when they all took five minutes to tell each other they didn't trust each other. Amazing Spider-Man's pacing constantly kept me on my toes, because something big was happening in almost every scene.
    • Even development for all. Geoff Johns's JL gets flame for this a lot. Almost every character gets a decent amount of development except for Supes. I don't want to see that. They all should have an even amount of screen time. The only exception should be Aquaman having only a small amount more screentime to establish his badassery to the audience. Even Avengers suffered from that, with Hawkeye being so... third wheelish. He was just... there, and half the movie he was brainwashed and just shot stuff with arrows.
    • Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" needs to be featured at some point. Sorry, I've just been listening to this song on loop for about 25 min now.

3: Not including John Stewart based on racial equality. In my opinion, a character shouldn't be added for the sake of racial equality. If they're going to add John Stewart, it shouldn't be because of the color of his skin, but because of who the character is and how popular they are among the fans. I think Hal Jordan should take on the role of Green Lantern since he's one of the founding members.

    What do you guys think?

I agree on the first two points but as for the third one....I like John Stewart :( and Hal is turning out to be disappointing in the n52

The third point was not to include John Stewart based on race alone.
