In a Man of Steel universe, how would you realistically and logically explain the origin/reasoning behind Flash's costume in a live action movie?

    Superman- Kryptonian armor

    Batman- Custom WayneTech military-grade armor

    Wonder Woman- Amazonian armor

    Green Lantern- Oan uniform

    Cyborg- Apokoliptan/Star Labs machinery

    Aquaman-Atlantean armor

Flash? Where did he get it? How is it so resistant to wear and tear? Could he realistically make it himself or afford the materials? Why did he decide he needed it? Can it look good in live action?

I will just use the silver age explanation of the aura which was changed by Mark Waid into the equally magical speed force aura. There is really no scientific explanation for the speed of the Flash and all explanations will sound magical.

I'm not asking about his speed. Just the logistics of his costume, the realistic origin of the costume, the material of the costume, and the reasoning behind the costume.

Maybe just say the costume is made of nano particles that shoot out of the ring. Or keep it simple and just let Barry keep his costume in his cabinet.

@colonyofcells: I think you might be ignoring the questions.

How will his costume be adapted into the big screen/How will it look.

Why would it look as it does in the comics/why did he choose that look

What is the origin of it/How did he get or make it.I think he can make it since he is a crime lab specialist,so I am pretty sure he can get some resources to make the costume. But that raises the question again, why did he choose that look for his costume.

@colonyofcells: I mean the main questions....but I just hope that he doesn't magically get his costume like jay garrick every time he runs.I mean,it's great in comics, but in movies,it just seems stupid

One easy explanation is to say Barry copied the costume of Superman assuming that in the movieverse, Superman will be the first super hero. Barry chose red maybe because blue was already taken by Superman. In the real world, many runners wear shorts or briefs only so maybe Barry is just the modest type and decided to cover his legs ? Because Barry has super powers that can protect his costume, the costume can be made in the usual way from materials bought from Walmart. Maybe Barry is an exercise addict so just made a costume that looks like exercise clothes ? Maybe Barry has a fetish for body suits ? Since Barry has super speed, it is very easy for Barry to go grab his costume from his cabinet if he needs his costume. For earth 2 Jay Garrick of James Robinson, I agree it was dumb to let Jay magic change into Flash like Captain Marvel or Hawk and Dove. Magic costume changes are just not necessary and look dumb.

You beat me to it. You could make him be inspired by Superman and maybe even Green Lantern. He could wear spandex because that's what is usually worn by athletes. The mask is to protect his identity (even though I have a hard time seeing the mask work in live action). He doesn't go for the full face mask because he doesn't want to look like a criminal.

I'm not sure if I can believe that he could make a movie-grade costume in his home, but the other stuff fits...

The short-lived Flash TV show actually had a pretty good explanation for his costume. His normal clothes always ended up shredded when he ran at superspeeds, so he used some kind of experimental bodysuit that was developed for something else but was able to handle the speeds he moved at.

The cowl and insignia were added later after he decided to fight crime as a way to protect his identity and make an impact on criminals.
