Who are DC's iconic non-super powered characters?

At the moment I can only think of:

    Batman

    Green Arrow

    Are there any others?

Those are good, but I don't think they are iconic enough.

Dick Greyson as Robin is certainly well known, but he doesn't belong on the Justice League.

How about Ted Kord as the Blue Beetle?

Does DC own The Spirit? Does The Spirit have any super powers?

Well, I wanted to find more non-super powered heroes that were fairly well known that could be added to the JLA so that Batman wouldn't seem to be the oddball in a group with super powered individuals.

So far I think Green Arrow is the only other one from DC Comics that fits the bill of a) having no super powers, and b) being iconic or well known, possibly, among non-comic book readers.

Oh okay I've got you. If we're thinking more potential movie I actually like Batman being the only normal human in the group. Avengers brought in multiple normal humans as a way to ground the more powerful characters. I'd rather see Justice League just leave Batman as the only one and instead of bringing the others down they should elevate to a point were he can play on their level.

If you really wanted another street level hero I'd recommend Black Canary. Other then her sonic scream she's a normal human plus she's supposed to be a better fighter then Batman. Also can't hurt to have another lady on the team.

Green Arrow is popular but not iconic at all.He is not treated in the same class as Bats.Hardly any one knows him outside comic world. Ever met a kid saying he wants to be Green arrow?? hell no.

i would say Robin has better chace of being labelled as iconic than than G.A.Thanks to CW arrows series G.A is getting some attention of non comic readers.

    btw i am a G.A fan. ;)

Batman is really the only iconic one. Him and Joker.

An argument could be made for characters in Batman movies, but outside of that...nothing really.

    He looks cool.

He seems to be fairly simple to understand at a glance like Green Arrow.

I'd say he fits the bill like Green Arrow.

All of those characters actually are street levelers. They are just very high tier street level with some properties that don't make them street level (for example,Wolverine or Luke Cage's durability,Iron Fist's damage output, etc)

    They have tons,just like DC.

DC has many powerful street levelers like The ENTIRE Green Arrow family (most notable ones are Black Canary, who is very powerful with her canary cry,Green Arrow himself,Roy,and Connor Hawke),The entire ever-expanding Batfamily, The Deathstroke family, etc.

I mean,Marvel probably has many more, and you are right, they are crazy powerful, but DC has very good ones, too.

There are less notable ones, though, like Cardiac, Silver Sable, Paladin, Bullseye, etc.

You can't really put the Spider-Family and The Bat or Arrow Families in the same categories. I can't imagine Spidey having that tough a time stomping any member of the Bat-Family, except MAYBE Jason, and that's only if he's packing some kind of magic. Same goes for the Arrow Family, which only really counts Roy (barely,) and Oliver, unless you wanna see Diggle take on someone.

I'd argue Deathstroke is a high Street-Leveler, but he could be classified above that even, I think. The Bat and Arrow Tribes are impressive, no doubt. But you can't really compare to the sheer abilities that the superhuman Spiders have.

Oh,no doubt.I agree completely with you, but The Spiders are kinda barely in the street level range (depending on whom in the family we are talking about),and the Batfamily is in the middle street range (their gadgets help them, but not by a lot). Deathstroke is high tier street, though. But I don't disagree with you,and I think that is what Matchesmalone21 was saying (again,in which I don't disagree in that case),it's just that I was pointing out that DC also has many street levelers, but Marvel's most notable ones are on a much higher level (in my opinion).

I'd say the mantle of Robin is just as well-known as Batman, (if held in lesser regard.)

You could potentially throw out the names of Green Arrow, Catwoman, and the name Blue Beetle (similar to Robin, you know the name, even if you don't know you could mean any number of people.)

After Superman returned to his original identity someone else took up the name and costume of Gangbuster.

I don't know if Gangbuster is well known enough to be considered an icon.

    No.

There is a character called Wild Dog who wears a hockey mask and uses a machine gun.
